My 16 random things. Thanks a bunch to Ninaduckling for tagging me.

01 - I am frequently informed that I have a "dry" sense of humour, but I don't know what this means. I used to think the opposite would be a "moist" sense of humour, but lately I am thinking the opposite would be a "funny" sense of humour.

02 - My first TV appearance was on "Mad About" with Michael Bentine. The week I was on we were "mad about" music. I met Suzi Quatro who was the guest that week. I was ten years old - curse you impossible age difference!

03 - I feel tired almost all the time, except at night.

04 - I don't have a driving licence, but I think I'd be a good driver.

05 - I pay more than £300 every month to clear my debts. In 6 years time I can stop. I consider declaring myself bankrupt but think this would count against me if I wanted to emigrate. I'm embarrassed by this.

06 - I've thrown up blood before because I drank too much whiskey (that was a long time ago, but it has happened more than once).

07 - I thought the Sahara desert was the furthest south I have ever been until I checked on a map and found, disappointingly, Disney World is the furthest south I have ever been. San Francisco is the furthest west, Budapest the furthest east and Edinburgh the furthest north.

Edinburgh is about two hours drive from where I was born and grew up.

08 - I really do think that reading Jack Kerouac changed my life.

09 - I've been offered £1350 by a French advertising company for one of my photos, but I think its a scam.

10 - I'm not a very good conversationalist and find it difficult to make small talk with people. I like people, but I think my inability to produce innane jibber jabber makes me seem unfriendly. Chit chat is a skill that I've never picked up.

Did you see the match last night?

11 - I'm a great lover.

12 - I can't remember people's birthdays. I've tried. I'm sorry that I forgot yours but its really nothing personal. I really couldn't give a shit if you forget mine. In fact I'd prefer it.

13 - As I get older I find more things are starting to annoy me.

14 - I'm thinking about moving to New Zealand, although I've never been there. It would totally smash my "furthest south" record.

15 - I really am very sorry.

16 - When I was at college one of my friends said "When I first met you I thought you were a twat, but actually you're alright". I see this as more of a compliment than I should.

On the other hand my friend Alex described me as "being like a table", which is more enigmatic. Its possible I misheard him, but I actually think its quite accurate and quite astute.

Things that belonged to Bhagat Puran Singh. He barely had any belongings.

Taken from a NZ magazine many moons ago and I don't know the name of the photographer. However, it's one of my favourite images and too good not to share. Aw!

When you are older you will understand how precious little things, seemingly of no value in themselves, can be loved and prized above all price when they convey the love and thoughtfulness of a good heart ~ Edwin Booth.

found this on the side of the road, had to pull over... it really is irony... a motorhome parked in someone's house. *shakes head*

This is what I carry daily as of the start of 2011. Hopefully I'll switch my phone out soon...

I absolutely love building, creating and mastering things with wood. I have an entire assembly line of power tools and accessories to go with them. Craftsman. Rigid. They are all some of the best tools out there and I love always having the right tool for the right job. I do wish I had a bigger workshop, but that is a lifetime dream of mine to have a really nice one on my property some day.

I do not regret having these tools, and I wouldn’t say that I was “afraid” of them… but I have a LOT of respect for power tools. One millisecond of lost concentration and the workshop floor will be crimson red. I have seen and had some bad accidents and close calls.

When I was building my daughter’s 2-story playhouse I was screwing one screw after another, and went a little too fast. I also didn’t have my gloves on. The drill slipped right off the screw head and went right into the skin between my fingers. It sliced this big “+” in my skin the shape of the screw head. And, well, like any American man- I just kept going. I had to wrap it real tight to get the blood to stop. The next day in church my daughter made sure that I was still feeling “Holy”. I still have the mark to this day as a reminder.

Every time I pick up the circular, miter or table saw I say a quick prayer. I respect these because they will rip you very fast and very deep. I think that’s a positive form of fear!

are better left to the imagination. In Monet's painting we only see this figure from behind. Mr. Johnson has given us hid impression of what the woman with the parasol looks like.
