Taken using a monopod the p900 is good for moon shots all on auto.

February 2nd (Illumination: 95%)

Because there is no atmosphere on the Moon that protects it from foreign impacts, the surface of the Moon is drilled with millions of impact craters.

Impact craters are the result of collisions between an asteroid, comet, or meteorite and the Moon at an average speed of about 30 kilometers per second.

These craters reach hundreds of kilometers in diameter and the largest ones have been filled with cooled and solidified lava which has finally become peculiar Seas.

The MOON

This is the Moon setting this morning with a number of starlings flying by.. An upload and run shot before I fly off myself to Somerset for the day

I would give you the moon... Alas, it is not mine to give. But if I could I would...

After a very wet day, the sky cleared and this was seen outside my front door- A 92 % of Full moon looking ESE over the Swansea Valley.. I also noticed a bat flying around my head but couldn't get that in shot so took the liberty of pasting one on.

From my window

I woke up for the bathroom at 4am and thought that one of us had left a light on in the back room. I discovered however that it was this beauty – the Snow Moon so naturally I grabbed my camera and clicked. Later I woke up to the most beautiful sunrise but by now it’s clouded over and becoming more evident that there’s one big storm brewing.

I'd been up at 6am then when I was on my way for a shower I noticed this outside. Captured at 7.30am looking SW over the Swansea Valley.

After a very grey day, the clouds cleared to give us this – a 17% Waxing Gibbous Moon looking WSW over the Swansea Valley.

Seek peace within yourself, than go out into the world and see it through your new eyes.

Then I think that we'll enjoy our lives in a different way, and also find what really matters for us🙏

Looking SW over the Swansea Valley

I just don’t tire of trying to capture the moon. I guess if you are bored with my moon shots you can always ignore them 😊

Moon Photo, 25th February 2021

Taken with Panasonic LUMIX DC-G9 Camera, and LUMIX Leica DG VARIO-ELMAR 100-400mm Lens, Dual OIS enabled. Hand-held. (Cropped)

I spent the night camping under the stars by Beckhead Tarn, between Kirk Fell and Great Gable in the Lake District. You can see the moon shining behind Kirk Fell on the left, and Orion over Lingmell, Broad Crag, and Scafell Pike on the right.

Captured through my patio windows shortly before it clouded over because it was too cold to go outside.

A detailed capture of the moon raising over Mayfield's Valley, taken with my Nikon D850 and paired with my Nikon 200-500 mm lens on the 12th of July 2025, shortly after midnight.

The clear night sky gave me the perfect opportunity to bring out the texture and surface detail without atmospheric interference.

Edited in lightroom to enhance contrast and sharpness while keeping the scene natural and true to how it appeared.
