What I like about Autumn.

Preserving summer's bounty means canning in glass with metallic lids and rings. In this case strawberry/blueberry jam.

Theme of the week in the 52.5 of 2010 group is red, and what says red like ponsettias? This are in our church's fellowship hall in front of the Chrismon tree decorated by my wife.

A visit to Kenilworth Castle on the late August 2017 Bank Holiday Monday. On a very hot and sunny day in Kenilworth!

Kenilworth Castle

From medieval fortress to Elizabethan palace, Kenilworth Castle has been at the centre of England's affairs for much of its 900 year history. Today, you can scale the heights of the tower built to woo Queen Elizabeth I and marvel at the mighty Norman keep. Explore the exhibition in the Gatehouse, and imagine the majesty of the Great Hall playing host to medieval monarchs and early Tudor kings.

It is a Grade I listed building and Scheduled Ancient Monument.

The shape of a partially melted plastic bottle was suggestive to me of a vase that might hold a single flower. The background was created separately, by recording the interference pattern produced by a laser beam that had been reflected from the surface of a mirror onto a flat surface.

No graphics please.

As suggested by its name, water mint thrives in wet areas usually in shallow margins of ponds, fens or reed-beds, growing rampantly across areas with its extensive root systems.

The flowers vary from mauve-purple to pink, blue or lilac and develop in clusters at the end of the square-shaped stems. Leaves are arranged in pairs along the sometimes sprawling stems and are ovate with shallow blunt teeth.

The distinctive and refreshing minty aroma of this plant is strongest when the leaves are rubbed or crushed.

Sunday #8

We ordered this sledge just a few days the first snow fell on the ground. It took almost two weeks to get it delivered. I had an impression that it was delivered from Germany and not from Kent. I let my kids play with it at home. They watched TV sitting on it, they pushed it around. They were getting used to it.

There were a lot of snow last Saturday, so we all went out. It was just a perfect time to try out the sledge. We went a few times up and down our road, then my son spotted some kids in the field behind the trees and wanted to go there.

We had a lot of fun going down the slope and making a snowman. We came back home and my toddlers started playing in the garden, but soon they ran inside to watch Chugger Chugger Chugger Chugger Chugger Chugger Chugger Chugger Chugger Chuggington.

52.5 Weeks of 2010 [Theme:Red] I've been waiting for the snow since Thursday to get this shot, but today the snow came :-)

My daughter's moneybox. Taken as part of the theme "Red" for my local camera club.
