For Macro Mondays this week's theme is: Red. These little red devils should do the trick. Birds Eye chillies. They look so pretty and innocent. Happy Macro Monday/ HMM

I found that the sun cast an R shadow on the gown, R is for Red. On second thought maybe it is R for right choice 😉

The Mere Scarborough

My original plan didn't happen tonight, but I stopped on the way home and thought I'd try a LE by the Mere, 44 seconds to be precise!

key to the shooting smoke is all the lighting is back lighting.

Golden little stars in a miniature wheelbarrow... Time to get ready for star studded Christmas. Have a wonderful December everyone!

Macro Mondays- Theme- "Red"

Well it looked a bit like the sun was an eye of some beast descending towards The Mere, I haven't even had a drink yet so no excuses for my strange brain.

This is an art glass cardinal by Oiva Toikka, a Finnish glass maker. It's sitting on a red folder. The texture is an overlay from pixlrexpress.

Down by The Mere

Have to call it an encounter because I was sitting on a fishing platform over the Mere and this little Moorhen was not a bit bothered by me or Poopy (dog). Walked all around me and kept popping in the water either side. I had a long lens with TC so much of the time it was too close for focus. I love how their eyes match their beak.

Two small items immerse the room with smell and light. Slowly the smoke rises and curls throughout the room as the light baths wall to wall. It is a nice immersion in the sweet smell of incense and the dancing light of the flame.

Faffing about again.

A Rare Sight at Oteley.

An adorable white Highland calf sticking close to its mother on the Oteley Estate in Ellesmere. While the reddish-brown coat is the hallmark of the Highland breed, white is one of the six officially recognized colors, appearing much less frequently.

The Oteley herd is purely grass-fed, roaming the 2,000-acre estate on the shores of the Mere. This little one was a joy to photograph, with its bright, fluffy coat providing a stunning contrast to the deep copper tones of the cow. It’s a wonderful example of the diverse genetics within this hardy, ancient breed.

Life on the Oteley Estate.

A peaceful scene from the Oteley Estate in Ellesmere, Shropshire, where their iconic Highland cattle share the lush parkland with a visiting gaggle of Canada geese.

These Highlands are part of a 100% grass-fed herd that roams the estate’s 2,000 acres of meadows and meres. I captured this moment near the shores of the Mere, where the cattle’s gentle temperament and shaggy, copper coats contrast perfectly with the sleek movement of the geese. It’s a great example of the vibrant, working landscape in this part of North Shropshire.

I am on my way to Vienna tomorrow! And to Graz a few days later... This is my first trip to Austria, it should be fun!

This section of the Mere always provides interesting abstract shapes and reflections and today it was particularly surreal.
