Theme No.6 is Macro (#9) - I will be posting 5 or more photos under this theme.
This is a stamen of this flower. It has a very tiny tip, maybe around 1mm. Shot using a reverse ring and 18-55mm lens mounted to a Nikon D90.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy weekend to all.

This is for a event which theme is "box". Thus I tried my best to build a lego box with bricks. The reason I choose 6985 is simple: I own this set :p. The concept of my work is: Imagination from the box. I built a new spaceship with limited parts because I don't wanna display the original one :)
Unfortunately I cannot found the black classic space minifig, so I used blue one instead on the cover.

Weekly Theme: Free Choice
Week 39
Taken September 26, 2015
Title: Earth, Sea & Sky
Notes: What? No predetermined theme? Anything I want? That didn't make things any easier ;-). Happily this week we are on one of the most beautiful islands this side of the Atlantic, Block Island. There are so many different and wonderful scenes here, both on land and water, with the wildlife to match. My favorite shot this week is looking east along the Mohegan Bluffs toward the Southeast Lighthouse in the distance. To me always a breathtaking view, and we had a gorgeous day to hike down them to the beach too.

However the LAX Theme Building, designed to resemble a landing spaceship and completed in 1961, was actually not inspired by The Jetsons, as many people believe. It was the other way around: The Hanna-Barbera cartoonists, who brought the show to the world in the 1962-63 season credit the building for fueling their imagination.

This fresco was produced as part of the Street Art Trail project led by the five MAHHL cities of the Euroregion. The heart of this project is five associations of artists specializing in the field of Street Art who have joined forces to create, in close collaboration with the cities of Aachen, Hasselt, Heerlen, Liège and Maastricht, five monumental frescoes around a unique theme “Love letter from 2123”. These unique works of art aim to tell the story of each linked city through a common objective: to give hope and imagine a bright future for current and future generations. The interventions carried out in the public spaces of the five cities will form an artistic journey across the territory of the Euregio and will invite the public to discover these new monumental works.
The City of Liège was happy to welcome an artist from Heerlen, Dazetwo (Wesley van Heugten).
The fresco that the artist Dazetwo and the city of Heerlen offered to Liège is presented in a poetic diptych. “On the left, a pile of electronic waste on which there is a crow. This left wall represents modern times and is partially constructed in black and white. This symbolizes the fact that we live in modern times, but we are still very outdated by the technology used. On the right, the representation of the future: behind the crow, nature is pure and unique. It is a symbol of the Garden of Eden. » Between these two spans, a letter floats and makes the connection between today and tomorrow. A letter full of good news from our great-grandchildren.

Yesterday, I was practising a "correct" retouching as much as I could on this portrait and here is the result. I know it doesn't resemble much my work. I decided to publish it anyway.

Theme: Disable
I had surgery on my ACL two months ago. Stuck in my mother's basement for two weeks. Experiencing life without the ability to be mobile was terrible. There were limitations on my ability to do basic things, such as using the washroom. The first couple days after my surgery, I could not sit down on the toilet.
Something you barely think about every day was causing me insane pain. I was struggling with things I usually encounter on a normal day and never think about on a regular basis . My experience has brought to my attention the struggles people with disabilities have every day. I learned from my short experience that society is not designed to accommodate people with physical impairments.
During my rehabilitation, I had to go to my university campus. Around campus, you can see automatic door openers everywhere. When I needed to use those automatic door opener, I realized the poorly designed locations for those buttons. For a few weeks, I experienced life without my legs properly functioning, and it was mentally exhausting to cope with my limitations.
After this experience, I want to advocate for people with physical disabilities rights to have built to accommodated their needs. I could start by complaining to my university about the poorly designed buttons. I acknowledge I cannot change every building, but at least I can do something.
As for this image. It was photographed a month after my surgery. I just started to be able to walk with a limp. I was going to take a picture with my boyfriend which was going to be inspired by the movie Signs. But it ended up looking like a cheesy family picture. This image is an outtake. Something I did not planned on making. I don't really like this picture but it's a stamp of my experience.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊
I have learned over the course of my years working with projects, that the design ever evolves. When you finish something, you realize how it could have been better, more effective, or whatever. Knowing that, with any project that is really important to me, I purposefully take my time, try things, see what works and what doesn't, and then decide on my design. Hopefully this time I have it...
I finished a lifetime dream of collecting the quarters of the National Parks some time ago, but the custom plaque / frame for them has been in the background for a while now. I believe that I have the design I will be happy with, the methods, and now... I can begin (again).

I'm counting on hearts like yours
to keep me burning,
to keep me up
'til two in the morning.
You be bright
when I'm starting to rust,
you be 'Why?'
behind the 'What?'
Indeed, some things are not as they seem. Us cats on the 'walks, you could say we are holding onto yesterday's dreams. But you know what? Some things are very much worth fighting for. The life of the cats ruling the rooftops and catwalks, that was something we took to the grave with us. Now, only embers remain cycled through the dust of the ages. Yet, if you listen closely, you may hear the subtle purring flutter through the night sky. Maybe the hairs on the back of your neck may raise, as if indicating that some predator is toying with you as their prey. That shiver you feel on the rooftop during the night, can you be certain that it is merely a subtle cool breeze, or could there be something calling out from nights of the depths of the past to remind you that you were not always safe to be up here? Maybe you still are not, and some ghost during the twilight stalks you and seeks to give you a fright, and remind you of those cats who used to live and fight for their right to rule the rooftops they once called home.
But I will never let go,
never let up my hold,
'cause I know
once you feel it
you can't unfeel it.
once you dream it
you can't undream it.
