For today’s Macro Monday’s theme “In the Mirror” I went to the DIY store and picked up 6 mirror tiles. I taped them together to form a cube with the top tile able to open. I put a glass decoration ball and a small glass cube inside the mirror cube and while leaving the top tile open a bit I photographed the ball and cube inside, shining three led lights (red, blue and green) through the opening.

Macro Mondays theme Knolling
As the rain has subsided and the sun has come out, I thought I would try to incorporate a seasonal theme this week. After all, I had bought lots of little Easter eggs as photographic props as an excuse ...and, oh dear, what a shame they have nearly all been eaten (and not by me!) 😊
This was cropped to fit with the group's size regulation. The width of frame was reduced to 5-6cm.
Happy Macro Monday and a very Happy Easter! 🐣🌸✨
As we get closer to spring, Australian Wattle trees start to flower. This is from the bush near my house in suburban Perth, Western Australia.
Taken with my very old Tokina 135mm 1:2.8 M42 mount lens.
Macro Mondays theme: Glass
My subject is a bud vase I bought 60 years ago at a yard sale of an old family friend and antique dealer. To my 16 year old self it was a treasure and reminded me of the art of Aubrey Beardsley. I have always called it my Aubrey Beardsley vase, though he was from the Art Nouveau period and this vase is probably Deco. The glass is in two layers. The inside layer is a nearly opaque yellow and the outside layer is clear. The black and white details are painted on the outer part of the clear layer. It is difficult to photograph as the inner and outer surfaces both catch the light and the painted lines cast shadows. Unfortunately the best lighting had the worst background, so not as artistic.

In heavy rain at the GCR Autumn Gala the 2-6-0 2MT tender locomotives run into the headshunt at Swithland Sidings
It is possible to see the subtle differences in these engines, with clackvalves, injectors, lubricators, cab roof and so on. Can't see how it was worth the drawing office time, as only the cab profile change was of any benefit

Veronica longifolia , Long-leaved Speedwell
Please view large for all the lovely detail!
This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds
Slender, upright spires of white, pink and blue tubular flowers appear in summer above cream-edged, mid-green leaves.
This elegant speedwell shows a good resistance to mildew and will add vertical interest throughout a sunny border on well-drained soil.
If cut back after the flowers have faded, it may produce a second flush in late summer or early autumn.
With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)
