Exquise délicatesse, délicieux parfum... Pivoine Sarah Bernhardt. The theme of the week, "Unusual Patterns", HMM!
In heavy rain at the GCR Autumn Gala the 2-6-0 2MT tender locomotives run into the headshunt at Swithland Sidings
It is possible to see the subtle differences in these engines, with clackvalves, injectors, lubricators, cab roof and so on. Can't see how it was worth the drawing office time, as only the cab profile change was of any benefit

Veronica longifolia , Long-leaved Speedwell
Please view large for all the lovely detail!
This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds
Slender, upright spires of white, pink and blue tubular flowers appear in summer above cream-edged, mid-green leaves.
This elegant speedwell shows a good resistance to mildew and will add vertical interest throughout a sunny border on well-drained soil.
If cut back after the flowers have faded, it may produce a second flush in late summer or early autumn.
With love to you and thank you for ALL your faves and comments, M, (* _ *)

Theme : Souvenir
I suddenly realized I don't really buy many souvenirs for myself.. Dont get me wrong, I do buy souvenirs, I just usually give them to others. The coral that you see in this photo was bought at a little market in the Bahamas from a little boy on a trip my husband and I took in the late 80;s It has set in various places over the years, a bathroom shelf is it's current perch. The rocks that you see in the jar have been picked up over the years, some bought most found. We've walked many beaches and hiked many trails so we don't think of them so much as souvenirs, but as treasures from our journeys .
This unassuming downtown store always catches my eye for it's plain and unadorned style except for those diamond shaped earthquake reinforcements sticking out on the surface and that small glass covered window. The storefront has large glass display windows.

Las palabras nos sobreviven
se visten, se alimentan, van al cine
al teatro, hasta se permiten
jugar con nuestros sentimientos.
Arrinconados todos en el aire
vivimos seducidos y atrapados
entre sus poderosas garras.
A veces pienso que no nos alienan,
pero seguramente me equivoco.
Nuestras vidas acaban como empiezan
rendidas a los sones
que silencian nuestros silencios.
Resembling a biplane poised for takeoff, this tiny amberwing dragonfly stayed motionless amidst the pink tassel flowers in a wildflower field in Central Florida.

This view is all about Spring. Beautiful English Bluebells, fragrant gorse, green fields and trees beginning to bear their new leaves...isn't Mother Nature wonderful?
