Central Park is een van de plaatsen die van New York zo’n aantrekkelijke stad maken. Het enorme park, 341 hectare groot, ligt in het centrum van Manhattan
Il Fuller Building, meglio noto come Flatiron Building (Ferro da stiro), (86,9 mt) è stato uno dei più alti grattacieli di New York sin dal suo completamento nel 1902. Situato a Manhattan, l'edificio fu progettato dall'architetto di Chicago Daniel Burnham in stile Beaux-Arts su un lotto triangolare compreso tra la 23a strada, la 5th Avenue e Broadway guardando su Madison Square.
I newyorkesi furono subito attratti dall'edificio tanto da scommettere quanto a lungo sarebbe riuscito a resistere alle forti raffiche di vento che soffiano dove sorge. Il nome Flatiron fu coniato proprio dai cittadini della Grande Mela a causa della forma del palazzo che ricorda molto quella di un ferro da stiro (in inglese Iron). La punta dell'edificio è larga solamente 2 metri (6.5 piedi) e si estende per 87 metri (285 piedi) in altezza, divisi su 22 piani. Il Fuller Building restò l'edificio più alto di New York City fino alla costruzione del Park Row Building.
Attualmente il Flatiron Building è quasi un passaggio obbligatorio per i numerosi turisti della metropoli di New York che affollano anche i negozi di souvenirs e libri inerenti l'edificio, che attualmente ospita diversi uffici tra cui quello del National Historic Landmark.
L'area limitrofa all'edificio viene chiamata Flatiron District in chiaro riferimento all'edificio che più caratterizza la zona: il Flatiron Building
