As a massive fan of the Beastie Boys and particularly ‘Paul’s Boutique’ I (naturally) headed straight to the corner of Ludlow Street & Rivington Street to ‘re-create’ the wonderful album cover (check out this awesome panoramic that was used on the gatefold LP version - upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/30/Paul%27s_Boutique_...) and sadly came up very short.

As one would expect, the area has changed dramatically in the 23 years since the album was released; however, round the corner I took this photo, which to me embodies the spirit of NY, the Beastie Boys and ‘Paul’s Boutique’.

One Fine Day in the Big Apple

This is a reflection of a classic NYC building taken from my hotel room as my wife surfed the net using my computer. (No Photoshop) The darkness of our room and the natural sunlight from the window turned my computer screen into a mirror. This was taken from the 6th floor of the Smyth Tribecca in New York City.
