This weekend was dedicated to macro photography.

The gravel texture pictured here is of a golf cart pathway that has obviously been weathered over the years. It was challenging looking for subjects that provided either rich colors, strong contrast and great details.

Here is image 365:30b. Enjoy!

texture of the Quelm Stone

10x6.978 inches Digital Photography with traditional editing. I chose the subjects of my photos based on the many intricate details each one had. The details help to develop the texture of the subject matter in the photograph. Based on each photograph one can feel the texture with their eyes in a manner of speaking. These textures vary from the sharpness of the cacti needles, the smoothness of the leaves, the roughness of the rocks, and the bumpy grain and fine pieces of the wood. All of these photos were edited traditionally with basic levels, curves, and saturation. One of the largest challenges of this project was getting close up to the subject without getting out of focus. Another challenge was composing the photograph with a focus point and the texture. It was very easy to take photos of dirt and grass for texture but they are truthfully boring photos. I tried to have a focus point in each of my final photographs this week.

These lovely pears were lit from the left side by natural light through a window. The window faces east and the shoot was in the morning. I held a white foam core board to the right hand side of them and this had the effect of softening the shadows made by the strong light from the window. Texture - kk_waterfront1 in soft light blend.

I'm trying my hand at taking textures shots to use in photo manipulation. I honestly have no clue what I'm doing so any helpful hints would be appreciated.

Texture Tuesday the pink edition. At my blog: Pamela Greer Photography

I've been wanting to do some textures of my own - and here's my first try :-). A texture created in PSE8 using some different brushes I made myself from an image taken at the seaside in England last year.

Feel free to download it on my blog. There you'll also find a download link for the brush set.

I hope that all the links work (it's already quite late and I'm watching the telly at the same time - it's Miss Marple weekend on IVT3 :) ) and, more important, that the texture and brushes are useful and usable. Do try them out, if you like, and let me know if everything works properly :-)

I'm sorry I haven't had much time visiting your streams today - I hope to make up tomorrow. Have a wonderful start into the new week :-)

To far away to get a good shot of the Hoodie but liked the texture of the water surface and reflections.

My first natural texture. Taken from the shimmer from the lake.

Feel free to use it.

If you would tell them where you got the texture and I would so LOVE to see what you made with them so feel free to post any of your pics you made with this on here.

This is the first time I've combined images for a triptych. I usually frame prints in sets like this but this works too.

Use it as you like. No need to comment on or fave.
