My photo shows texture by highlighting the veins on the flowers and making the flowers look soft when they are truely plastic. Also the curves on the edges of the leaves and the flowers shows texture by defining the edges of each individual flower/ leaf. To take this picture I places some plastic flowers and leaves on top of some sticks that were in the pot as well on the group next to my back door. I got really close to two of the flowers and focused on them. In photoshop I brighten the light on the leaves to get more of the veins showing, I also bighten the pink and yellow of the flowers to make the stand out a little more. I believe that I did a good good on showing texture, and I wish that I moved the sticks a little more to the side.

I love the textures in this photograph. The light streaming in from the background makes it feel as though I'm in a warm cottage.

This giraffe was nice enough to stop and look right at me for a minute or two at the zoo, while I got the chance to take her photo!

My photo meets the project goals by the texture in the cactus contrasting against the smooth background. One thing I thought i did well was getting what i wanted in focus and making the picture very clear. One thing I thought i could do better was using the background more and not having as much negative space. I created this picture by going out side adn taking a picture of my cactus, im not sure why the background is black because it was the middle of the day. I took this photo into camera raw and changed the vibrance, saturation, and the curves.
residential recycling container texture, scratched with paint. Can be used for photoshop texture layer.
For this week's Take a Class With Dave, we did a texture overlay. I took a picture of flowers (knowing the light colors would pick up the texture nicely) and the piled bathroom rug. I then used the overlay layer setting. Turned out pretty nicely.
cwd891 - Texture Overlay In honor of Jessi and James visiting us this week! For this assignment you must take two photos -- one "regular" photo and one photo of some sort of interesting texture. Once you have the two photos, overlay the texture onto the other photo. You can do this in PS by setting the layer blending mode to "Overlay" (and then adjusting the layer opacity to taste). Play around with other blending modes as well...or use multiple textures. Knock yourselves out -- but remember, ALL photos used in the assignment must be taken this week (by you).
