Working on experimental dye techniques inspired by traditional Japanese dye knowledge is very fun and yields surprising results!
Elke was looking after us at the creative felting barn where we were and she prepaired lots of treats for us to eat! We were all very impressed with her friendly help!

I am experimenting with felting wool, yarn, fabric, shibori dye techniques and making samples for a big work of art which is in my head!
I created multiple samplings of sections of the Jungle Series in various colors and now I can see them in various quilt square arrangements...............As you can see the seam allowance is showing, since they are not sewn together, but this lets me see the various possibles for the arrangements of the squares. I really liked seeing the options. Any color variations are due to lighting as well as the light play on the cotton sateen.
This is a close-up of the more ornate part of the kanzashi hairsticks I made out of hand-dyed habotai silk.
