When designing the textile, think of it as your body of work and what message are you trying to send out to the world? Textile design is amazing because you can take pride in seeing your original artwork displayed on people all over the world!

So fun!

The fulling rock-n-rolling phase of nuno felting can be hard on the nerves, especially if it not sticking to the fabric! My tip is to roll lightly several times (about 4 min. on each side 2 times each) and let the wool work itself into the silk before you begin to steam it and roll it with a lot of power.

Modern interpretation of a toile pattern design referencing the 1957 film 'Funny Face' starring Audrey Hepburn. The film centres on a shy bookstore employee Jo (Audrey Hepburn) who has been scouted by a New York City-based fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) who he believes has the potential to become a successful model. He gets Jo to go with him to France, where he snaps more pictures of her against iconic Parisian backdrops. My toile design references the Parisian scenery and uses a mix of traditional painted media and digital elements to create my final design.

The finished work of wearable art in Schorndorf! This piece turned out light and airy and looked strong yet delicate around the hips

Size 20x30 cm. This textile work is made of wool, cotton and silk.

We had been watching this plum tree the whole weekend as it stood out in the cold winter breeze............and then as the seminar ended we got a taste test and they were excellent.

Mari and I even collected 5 kilos of plums which I dried for the Christmas holiday.

Here you see on the left how the silk has been cut and laid out into a pattern and the wool is just beginning to be put down in thin tufts, one direction after another in a layered manor.

I am happy with this side of my design and the colors too. It also expresses for me that sometimes I feel like I have stones in my heart when I am sad.....You can really see the rocks and feel them on this surface. It is definately something to touch and feel and when people see it they immediately touch it.
