Portland è sempre stata uno snodo rilevante della scena punk/hardcore, basti pensare a Poison Idea e Wipers. A partire dai Novanta, però, è diventata proprio uno dei luoghi chiave del DIY punk mondiale: band come Resist prima e Detestation e His Hero is Gone dopo sono unanimemente considerate dei pilastri. Col nuovo millennio il ruolo di catalizzatore della città è diventato sempre più decisivo e - fra i tanti nomi di peso che sono emersi negli anni - quello dei Warcry è tra i più importanti, anche perché la formazione comprende membri di gruppi fondamentali come Tragedy, From Ashes Rise, Hellshock, Remains of the Day, Estranged, Severed Head of State e molti altri, inclusi i già citati His Hero is Gone. I Warcry sono portabandiera del d-beat più puro e furioso, cuore ai Discharge e occhi alla Svezia di Anti-Cimex, Shitlickers e Avskum. In occasione del loro tour europeo, Agipunk farà uscire il loro nuovo disco e ristamperà i tre precedenti, il tutto rigorosamente in vinile.
Il loro tour italiano comincia qui, al Tetris, e prosegue il 17 settembre a Bologna (Atlantide), il 18 a Roma (360) e il 19 a Milano (Ligera).
L'evento è così ghiotto che non potevamo non andare in doppietta coi concerti. E allora prima dei Warcry, per scaldare gli animi, ci saranno i WARFARE: punk hardcore da Gorizia since 1981!

Since early 1980s Portland had one of the most vibrant hardcore punk scenes, just think about Poison Idea and Wipers. Starting from the 90s, it became a true DIY punk mecca, creating monsters like Resist, Detestation and His Hero is Gone. The new millennium brought us Warcry, making it clear, if punk was dying, it wasn’t happening in Oregon.
Including former members of Tragedy, From Ashes Rise, Hellshock, Remains of the Day, Estranged, Severed Head of State and the above mentioned His Hero is Gone, Warcry generate the purest and the most raging d-beat, with Discharge at heart and Swedish Anti-Cimex, Shitlickers and Avskum in their soul.
To celebrate their upcoming European tour Agipunk is going to release the band’s new record and reissue three previous once, all on vinyl, of course.
Italian tour starts right here, at Tetris to continue with three gigs:

In giro da 15 anni, nati sulla loro Bar La Muerte, passati per Load Records e giunti su Supernatural Cat, suonando nel frattempo ovunque in Europa e nel mondo (Canada, USA, Messico, Israele...). Questi sono gli OvO, tra i migliori esponenti del nostro underground. Bruno Dorella (batteria) e Stefania Pedretti (chitarra e voce) sono riusciti a evolversi continuamente, conservando un assetto intenzionalmente essenziale, aggiungendo di recente sample ed elementi "industrial" al loro sound, già prima un continuo avvicendarsi tra noise, punk, sludge, e ospitando nel loro ultimo full length artisti di primo livello come Alan Dubin (Khanate) e Carla Bozulich/Evengelista.

Tornano qui gli Zu dopo il loro concerto del 2009, che tutti ricordiamo. Si tratta di uno dei gruppi più significativi emersi dall’underground italiano negli ultimi vent’anni, non solo perché è approdato alla corte di Mike Patton (l’etichetta Ipecac), ma per come ci è approdato, senza compromessi e suonando incessantemente dal vivo in tutto il mondo, cosa, quest’ultima, che anche oggi riesce a pochissime nostre band.
In seguito alla separazione dal batterista Jacopo Battaglia, l’esperienza degli Zu si è interrotta per tre anni, fino a quando, nel 2014, Luca T. Mai (sax) e Massimo Pupillo (basso) si sono riattivati unendosi a Gabe Serbian dei Locust (e dei Retox) e hanno pubblicato l’ep “Goodnight, Civilization”, “The Left Hand Path”, con Eugene Robinson degli Oxbow, e il nuovo full length “Cortar Todo”, ospiti Joey Karam (ancora dai Locust) alle tastiere e Stefano Pilia alla chitarra.
Di certo il nostro pubblico non può non amare chi ha intitolato un suo pezzo “Tom Araya is our Elvis” e sembra proprio che non potrà restare indifferente al materiale di “Cortar Todo”, per il quale uno come Adam Wright della Crucial Blast, etichetta americana che unisce metal estremo a istanze “avant”, si è prodotto in definizioni come “the heaviest goddamn thing they've ever belted us with” “monstrously downtuned sludgefest” e “brute-force jazzcore”, sottolineando come nel disco convivano opposti come urgenza hardcore-punk e complessità, contorsioni jazz e pesantezze doom.
Noi li (ri)vedremo all’opera con il nuovo batterista Tomas Järmyr (Barchan): l’appuntamento è imperdibile, non si sa nemmeno perché lo scriviamo.

Zu are finally back to Tetris, after their memorable gig in 2009. The are the most significant underground band the Italian scene has seen since the nineties, not only because of their connection with Mike Patton (Ipecac record label), but because they never ceased playing live all over the world, while staying true to themselves, something, that very few Italian bands manage to accomplish.
After the original drummer Jacopo Battaglia left the band, Zu took a 3 year break, until Luca T. Mai (sax) and Massimo Pupillo (bass guitar) joined forces with Gabe Serbian (Locust, Retox) giving birth to their last EP “Goodnight, Civilization” in 2014 and full-length “The Left Hand Path” with Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) the same year. Their new full-length “Cortar Todo”, featuring Joey Karam (Locust) on keyboards and Stefano Pilia on guitar was released on March 24, 2015.
Obviously, our crowd cannot stay indifferent to a band who called a song “Tom Araya is our Elvis” and will certainly fall in love with “Cortar Todo”, which Adam Wright from Crucial Blast, an independent american record label focusing on indie/noise/metal/avant underground defined as “the heaviest goddamn thing they've ever belted us with”, “monstrously downtuned sludgefest” and “brute-force jazzcore”, highlighting how the urge of hardcore-punk, sophistication and twist of jazz and heaviness of doom coexist in this record.
On November 29 we will see them with their new drummer Tomas Järmyr (Barchan), it goes without saying, missing this gig would be an epic fail.

Il nome dice già tutto, almeno in Italia: i Digos Goat suonano hardcore punk con testi politici (“Naja de Merda”, “Medio Oriente”, “Burattini”…), influenzato anche dalla new wave e reso particolare dall’uso del wah wah nei frangenti noise. Nascono nel 1983 - ma suonavano insieme dal 1979 - a Cermignano, in provincia di Teramo, passano attraverso la classica serie di cambi di formazione e si autoproducono due album con la loro etichetta Furtcore: “Il Delirio” (1988) e “Testimoni Del Silenzio” (1990), oggi esauriti (in questi ultimi anni, invece, sono usciti con un ep, “Stille”, e con “30 Years Of Hardcore Punk - 1983-2013”, sette pezzi storici rielaborati). Li vedremo dal vivo in versione power trio, col chitarrista e membro fondatore "Gix" Guerrieri a far da portavoce.

Smart mix of white tiles and little blue tetris tiles. Wide border on the sink area give balance and these little tiles used over all the walls of the shower creates a refreshing ambient.
Tetris. We've all played it. We've all had that addiction at one point, and it's still ready to re-get hold of you any time you give it the chance.
Obviously a lot of the credit to Tetris being the phenomenon it is the fact it came bundled with Game Boy's, or actually...a lot of the credit for Game Boy's success is thanks to Tetris, had Nintendo not managed to convince the license holders in Soviet Russia to allow them to use Tetris then things could have been a lot different for the Game Boy, and perhaps Tetris would not of had a platform to kick start it into super stardom.
Such a simple yet captivating puzzle game, that really needs no further explanation.
You'll find it hard to find a single video game platform that "Tetris" hasn't been on, and I continue to keep ending up with more and more versions of it as time goes on with no regrets.
...and who can forget the original "Tetris - Type A" theme on Game Boy, a constant song that comes up when my minds on shuffle and I need something random to hum.

A few weeks ago they knocked everyone’s socks off at Pietrasonica psychedelic fest by offering what undeniably was the best gig of the night. Six-piece from Vicenza, Italy, Jefferson Airplane running through their veins, Mother Island with their full-length debut “Cosmic Pyre” produced by Matt Bordin of Mojomatics and Squadra Omega and released by Go Down Records in the beginning of 2015, have all elements in place to make sure you won’t forget them. Ask Acid Frog, who were there and are happy to share the stage with them again, at Tetris this time, helping to recreate ”A Magic Theatre, For Madmen Only”. Vintage psychedelia junkies, your time has come!

Di certo il nostro pubblico non può non amare chi ha intitolato un suo pezzo “Tom Araya is our Elvis” e sembra proprio che non potrà restare indifferente al materiale di “Cortar Todo”, per il quale uno come Adam Wright della Crucial Blast, etichetta americana che unisce metal estremo a istanze “avant”, si è prodotto in definizioni come “the heaviest goddamn thing they've ever belted us with” “monstrously downtuned sludgefest” e “brute-force jazzcore”, sottolineando come nel disco convivano opposti come urgenza hardcore-punk e complessità, contorsioni jazz e pesantezze doom.
Noi li (ri)vedremo all’opera con il nuovo batterista Tomas Järmyr (Barchan): l’appuntamento è imperdibile, non si sa nemmeno perché lo scriviamo.

Zu are finally back to Tetris, after their memorable gig in 2009. The are the most significant underground band the Italian scene has seen since the nineties, not only because of their connection with Mike Patton (Ipecac record label), but because they never ceased playing live all over the world, while staying true to themselves, something, that very few Italian bands manage to accomplish.
After the original drummer Jacopo Battaglia left the band, Zu took a 3 year break, until Luca T. Mai (sax) and Massimo Pupillo (bass guitar) joined forces with Gabe Serbian (Locust, Retox) giving birth to their last EP “Goodnight, Civilization” in 2014 and full-length “The Left Hand Path” with Eugene Robinson (Oxbow) the same year. Their new full-length “Cortar Todo”, featuring Joey Karam (Locust) on keyboards and Stefano Pilia on guitar was released on March 24, 2015.
Obviously, our crowd cannot stay indifferent to a band who called a song “Tom Araya is our Elvis” and will certainly fall in love with “Cortar Todo”, which Adam Wright from Crucial Blast, an independent american record label focusing on indie/noise/metal/avant underground defined as “the heaviest goddamn thing they've ever belted us with”, “monstrously downtuned sludgefest” and “brute-force jazzcore”, highlighting how the urge of hardcore-punk, sophistication and twist of jazz and heaviness of doom coexist in this record.
On November 29 we will see them with their new drummer Tomas Järmyr (Barchan), it goes without saying, missing this gig would be an epic fail.
