The Small Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an is one of the city's more ancient Tang Dynasty monuments, dating from 709, the tower was built to house Buddhist scriptures brought back from India. It was damaged by several earthquakes in the medieval period, one of which caused a large fissure to open through it's centre, another later caused it to close again!

There are several buildings surviving in the complex from the ancient temple that stood here, along with many animal sculptures.

The last set of cables I bought is the Tether Tools and I even bought a jerk stopper. Even that one works intermittently. The message above proves it is not the cables but the camera ports.

I happened to notice this attached to one of the poles that support the chain railing on the boardwalk over the marsh. It's been there for a while now and was still there when I checked on it a couple weeks ago. I wonder if it will overwinter there if somehow miraculously it survives all the foot traffic there unmolested.

Only because of its location, I'm thinking that it may be related to the orangey caterpillars that are next in my stream. But I don't know what either will become.
