Just testing out a new light set up and backdrop. In preparation for the Halloween Costume Blow Out
Not bad. My test subject was very happy to help. I swear she gets annoyed when its Reo's turn in the camera lens.
Passing through Leeds this morning was this top n tailed test train. DB Schenker operated 67027 is seen tagging along the rear, the train would then make its way east to Neville Hill where it would then return to continue its circuit around the rails of Yorkshire.
On the other end was former Wrexham & Shropshire 67012, in the process of being displaced by brand new Class 68's operated by DRS.
not really but i finally get to a good vantage point to try some light trails and there were hardly any cars around! :(
Using the Microsoft 30% back, I decided to spring for the Sigma 50mm 1.4. Haven't been able to put it through it's paces, but it appears to be a very great lens. Metz 58 AF-1 flash.
Still from the Digisix test roll.

This is the interior of the 1951 USAF Test Chart on a Canon 9000F Mk II.
The test chart was wet mounted directly against the scanner's platen glass using standard mineral oil.
Using a test chart like this is fraught with its own set of issues, but at least it's consistent.
In terms of resolution, we can refer to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1951_USAF_resolution_test_chart to figure out what the scanner is resolving.
Scanning at 4800 dpi doesn't appear to do awful things to the captured image, at least in terms of wet mounting this test chart.
This was scanned at 4800 dpi and 16 bits, then cropped and saved to a jpeg.

Next to the cottage there was an old aerial ropeway crossing the glacier-cold river. The kids were ready to test it...
