The Forge is bulky, brawny, and designed to take and dish out a beating. While significantly heavier than its competitor, the Skelatin, the Forge makes up for its bulk with a suite of thrusters on the rear of its skirting armor, arms, and legs, allowing it surprisingly swift maneuvering capabilities both on land and in space.

In a bid to match pace with the ever-increasing variants of the Lunar Union's Skelatin, the Forge's standard loadout provides a suite of options in combat, including the standard plasma axe, heavy repeating rifle, anti-frame sniper rifle, and an omnidirectional thruster pack.

The Terran-Zhikan War is now into its 10th year. As more and more heavy naval units are drawn to the warzone at the Border, the Terran Empire needed replacement units to police the Core Systems, as well as defending against strategic “terror” strikes by the enemy.

The Fire Drake Class was developed as a fast response light carrier, used for system defense and patrol within the Empire Core. Each carrier has a complement of 20 Fire Wasp Starfighters and is heavily armed, to be able to engage enemy Capital Ships on its own.

The Gourmet was a self-contained mobile mining and smelting plant, suitable for use in deep space. This large mining spacecraft gripped onto asteroids of precious minerals by using the drill built into its rear four feet. The front feet were equipped with rotary cutters, which fired chunks of ore into the furnace under the ship's belly. Smaller ships serviced the main spacecraft. The ingot handler had a special heat-resistant claw, with which it could reach into the furnace and extract the ingots. Other ships would then fly the ingots to waiting transport craft.

This ship owes everything to an illustration by Bob Layzell in Stewart Cowley's classic book "Spacebase 2000", published by Hamlyn back in 1984. The Terran Trade Authourity books have been a big influence in the style of my Lego builds.

After 3 long years of hard work designing, redesigning and finally building, we are proud share our 'LEGO StarCraft' collaborative build, which was first shown at Brickworld Chicago.

We had a team of amazing builders from United States, Canada, Belgium and Norway to help to piece this all together. We hope you take a moment to look at all the detail shots, units, battles, and skermishes in the collaboratives group here:

Seriously, it has been a blast working and learning from all of the individuals involved. Without every last one of them, this wouldn't have happened. Thanks again, and we hope you've enjoyed this as much as we have! :D

Fun Facts:

The display is roughly 14 feet long. About 5 more feet than our original plans.

It took a whole day to set up this entire display.

There are far too many parts to count, but the landscape itself, collapsed down, takes up two 1.5 cubic foot boxes.

Not all our builders could make it to Chicago - so contributions were shipped in from San Francisco and as far as Belgium.

The smallest units were always the hardest to design.

The Humble Marine had the most number of design changes over 3 years.

Check out the main Lego StarCraft picture here!

What inspired me for this build:

- Mark Kelso's Rusty ferret for the front.

- Norsehound's Somtaaw frigate for the back.

Terran Alliance Battlecruiser "Hekatonkhire" -

A black hole starship - the first of its kind to be equipped with a reverse-engineered Invaderz singularity drive. Propulsion is accomplished by capturing an artificial black hole and using a parabolic reflector to reflect its Hawking radiation rearward. Carrying this idea forward, the singularity drive is coupled to the enormous bore comprising the center superstructure of the ship and ending in a firing gate at it's bow, enabling the Hawking radiation of the engine to be fired in a stream directly forwards. The main weapon has earned it's nickname - Black Hole cannon.

Additional armaments include 4 mass driver turrets, 4 torpedo tubes and a Point Defense system. Hangar bays hold 1 squadron of fighters and an assortment of Gunships/Heavy bombers. An Octan ZPT* energy dispenser system provides power for its complement of ships.

Heavy inspiration is taken from Legolize It Man and A Yates Industrials. I hope they don't mind too much

I took some time to begin building a fleet for Firestorm armada [www.spartangames.co.uk/products/firestorm-armada] instead of buying minis. My first time doing Microspace, lots of fun! Can you tell that I grew up watching Star Blazers? (Space Battleship Yamato). Yup, I need to learn how to take better pictures.

* The ZPT by Octan Energy systems is the latest in power generation. Energy is extracted from the Quantum sea by the ZPT on a carrier or other capital ship. The extracted energy is then fed via Quantum entanglement to the fighter via its receiving system. Limitless energy delivered anywhere, instantaneously with no interruption.

CMC power battle suit from Starcraft 2 Terran.

I wanted to show off the cool collaborative we did for Brickworld in Europe as well, by bringing it to the Skærbæk Fan Weekend in Denmark, but seeing as all the terrain and Zerg and Terran forces went elsewhere, I was left with my Protoss army. So I set out to build some new terrain, and add some Zerg and Terrans to the map.

I chose to build some terrain fitting of having almost only Protoss structures: Aiur themed. Sadly, I didn't have time to make it as big as I wanted, so units are overflowing the map a bit...

[LOCATION: SYNTHIA, ALPHA CENTURI SYSTEM][TIME: 1847 HRS][DATE: 12/28]

A group of shadowy figures move silently through the dimly lit bowels which lie beneath the massive Centuri Research and Production Facility. The two men in the rear are heavily armored in blue and grey armor, both are armed with wicked looking blaster weapons. Strangely, one of the guards uncomfortably carries a cherry red Gibson Flying V guitar. The man obliviously in the lead is a rugged, longhaired, knockabout type. The dreamy grin that seems to be permanently plastered across his stubbly chin and the bounce in his gait can be attributed to the music that is pumping through his headset. The last member of the group is an orange and green droid floating closely behind the lead man. The two men in the rear stop suddenly. One of them thrust the muzzle of their blaster roughly into the back of the lead man.

“Oww man!” The lead man turned around shrugging at the two soldiers. “Dude, really? Was that necessary?”

“Maybe if you’d stop… umm…” The one guard shrugged at the other.

“Jamming?” The rugged man grinned again at the two and pointed at his headset. “These are my tunes man, they go everywhere with me.”

“Well, you have a mission to accomplish… umm… What was your name again?”

“Dude, you can just call me Ziggy Stardust, man. You know? Like the song.”

“What kind of name is Ziggy Stardust?” the lead guard looked at the other who returned his look of confusion.

“You guys are hopeless.” Ziggy shook his head in disappointment and then motioned to the guitar in the other guards hand. “Hey, you take it easy on Lucille, okay man? Don’t do anything crazy, that guitar costs more than your life.”

“You know the deal Zig, you secure the Centuri nav data for Terran Empire and you get your accoustic sound device back unharmed.” He grinned wickedly in order to punctuate the next part, “You cross us and ‘SNAP’. Now, don‘t forget, you and the droid will meet us back here in one hour for extraction. Copy that Ziggy Stardust?”

“Man, you are some kind of crazy!” Zig shook his head and motioned for his droid to lead on, “Yeah, I copy. Come on DJ, let’s keep on, keeping on.”

*** This is my sign-up build for the Struggle for Klegon online RPG.

By the year 2063, the Terran Unification War is close to an end, with only a few pockets of resistance in what used to be North America. The Emperor, in His wisdom, has avoided nuclear bombardment of the continent, as He did not wish to add to the suffering of the common folk. He turned to His most trusted military advisor, Lego Admiral, to come up with new weapons and strategy to quickly conclude the War, so that global peace can be achieved.

The Hammerhead Sky Fortress concept was thus conceived. The newly developed lightweight but extremely strong alloy Allenulium, allowed the realization of this project. Heavily armed, the Sky Fortress could rapidly deploy behind enemy lines. Multipurpose “Peacemaker” FF Missiles provided effective offensive and defensive capability. Aft and stern turret mounted Gauss Cannons provided artillery support to ground troops, as well as ship to ship combat. The Sky Fortress also carries two Piranha gunships for aerial support. A full platoon of Terran Marines can deploy from the air using their jet packs.

It is with great hope and anticipation that the Sky Fortress will deliver the Victory we all yearn for…….

As a fan of M.R.Yoder’s spaceships, I’ve been wanting to build something like this for a while - The Lego Military Annual Challenge provided the motivation for me to finally get around to it! The general shape of my Sky Fortress is influenced by M.R. Yoder’s “Spirit of Memphis”, and I have utilized the method Mike kindly shared to make the wedges for the nose and engine exhausts.

As a new shareholder of the East Terran Trade Company, Captain Sir Jonathan Brickleton elected to lead a caravan of ETTC wagons heading north from Westface along the Terraversan Trade Road. The shipments consisted of a variety of exotic citruses, including oranges, limes, and lemons. The traders would stop over at the island's new central trading hub before continuing on north to King's Port.

The trade company had hired Terraversans in Westface to work the wagon train, but they counted on trusty ETTC Sepoys from Jameston to safeguard its passage.

As the first wagon approached an Atwi adobe building, Brickleton saw a young boy and his mother watching their advance. Brickleton snatched an orange from the wagon and tossed it to the boy, who took a bite of the orange, peel and all, and smiled with a wide grin.

Mars Fleet - 2nd Flotilla Fast Attack Frigate "Anthelios" -

Equipped with a 2nd Gen compact singularity plant powering an Alcubierre drive. Intersystem thrust is provided by Hawking thrusters, FTL propulsion is achieved by -REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED - working on exotic matter creating a wave of distorted space-time, expanding behind and contracting ahead, to carry a spacecraft along at faster-than-light speeds. No basic physics are violated in the movement; Einstein’s prohibitions against FTL had been directed at mass and energy, not at the fabric of space itself. A ship in the state of the Alcubierre Metric slips quietly across flat space-time at the rate of 3 light-years per day, but since it's motionless relative to the encapsulated space-time immediately around it, it avoids completely such inconvenient effects as acceleration, relativistic mass increase, or time dilation.

By the nature of the space-bending field around it, a vessel under Alcubierre Drive, is also effectively cut off from the universe outside - a very effective stealth by-product.

Armaments include 4 torpedo tubes, 2 mass drivers, drone bay and a Point Defense system.

Inspiration is taken from Gundam Moebius Zero and the Alcubierre drive text borrowed from Ian Douglas's Inheritance Trilogy (awesome books). You can wiki Miguel Alcubierre and his theories as well.

Can you tell that I grew up watching Star Blazers? (Space Battleship Yamato). Yup, I still need to learn how to take better pictures.

Just a little "tablescrap" that I put together this morning. It was a challenge to make my microscale freighter yesterday, and I sort of got the bug to knock out a few more microscale Klegon ships over the next few weeks. I'd like to use these ships from other factions as background in my builds.

The P-103 is a capable and heavily armed little fighter. It handles well in the vacuum of space and is still quite nimble in atmospheric conditions. The "Viper" was widely used by the Terrans as they spread the reach of their empire across the galaxy. Now the Vipers are used to keep the peace, neutralize Nova League pirates, and quell the ever rising tide of rebellions across the numerous worlds of the Terran Empire.

When the first contact war started, earth was outgunned. Nothing in the Terran fleet could make a dent in the invading army’s ships. The Apophis-Class Heavy Dreadnought was designed to bring down the enemy’s shields so that smaller ships could move in to attack the now defenceless ship. Instead, the Apophis’s firepower was monumentally underestimated. Not only did it bring down the shields, it blew a hole clean through the ship and several others behind it. The invading army surrendered shortly after. The Apophis ended the war with a single shot.
