With a hectic night before and little (if any) sleep, my friend and I decided to take high dosages of coke caffeine to kill down the headache during our 5 hour journey. We knew we had a hectic week ahead.
A stray board, from several pools away, appeared just as the hair fell. To catch himself from the fall, he put out his foot and it landed...where? Yup, right on the errant board. The hat went over to apologize, but other kid was still pissed. The let bygones be bygones.

A 14”x19" paper cutting collage inspired by lovers. In this collage I wanted to capture the tension in the look exchanged between lovers, perhaps when they know they will not see each other for a while. I also wanted to depict the rush experienced in young love, the yearning for one another, and the joy. I put the picture of one of the subjects between the 2 halves of the other to symbolise the feeling of being incomplete without each other. I also wanted to incorporate the trials and tribulations of love by pasting a line of text “is this a tragedy or a comedy?”. This collage was greatly inspired by the songs ‘Venice Bitch’ and ‘Young and beautiful’ by Lana Del Rey, which both deal with the subject matter of being deeply in love and the uncertainty of it. The line “If you weren’t mine I’d be jealous of your love” was what set my train of thought into motion. I have written the lyrics of these songs and used them in the background and in some small spaces in the foreground. The collage was made out of images found in i-d Magazine and Vogue among other magazines.
