Vocabulary of Solitude.The clowns shown in the exhibition have titles in the present tense, such as be, breath, remember, feel and yawn. Together, they describe a day in the life of an individual. Just as a prism splits white light into all the colours of the rainbow, in this installation Rondinone reveals the various aspects of human existence.

"The sound of the pistol leaving it's holster was deafening in the silence of the cavernous metal chamber. It seemed to drive home the impossibility of so many of the massive creatures looming up out of the gloom without so much as a sound.
'J'Xaxthii, Sir.' The statement from the young woman in the dull gray armor carried with it a trace of static. Even with positive readings she had refused to remove her rebreather. The commander has earlier called her paranoid, but was having very sudden second thoughts.
'I know what they are.' He barked in his typical coarse voice to the lieutenant. 'We've glassed more than one rock crawling with these things. Why aren't they attacking?'
The crowd of chitinous, glistening creatures parted like silent water to reveal a small, human child walking towards the group. Eyes distant, gait strangely jerky.
'I think we're about to find out, Sir.'

Seeing this lighthouse from above, I just had to get near it at ground level. Which is not super easy, since it requires a 1.25 mile walk from the Birling Gap on a slippery, rocky beach. The unfortunate fact is, this scene is probably best at high tide, but there is no way to take this shot when it's high tide :LOL

I knew Lionfish were venomous even fatal.
After coming across one about 20 feet offshore I googled the number of fatalities they cause in a year.
Apparently the spines cause a really painful sting which is seldom fatal but the commonest incidents are with curious photographers who annoy them!
Judging by the way this one's spines have gone from being flat against its back to being fully erect I guess I was lucky!
