The praying mantis is so called because its front legs fold as we would fold our hands in prayer. I watched as it landed in the Russian Sage and patiently waited for a grasshopper to happen along. I did see it swiping at the bee with its front legs. I’m not sure if it was trying to catch a meal or chase it away.
