Festival week also meant contests with bulls. We got a front row seat to what turned out to be the opening act, with testosterone-filled boys and experienced, weary bulls keeping a safe distance. (No bulls or people were injured in the event.)
It is just so tempting to tickle those little pink toes .... watch out for the retractable daggers though :o)
The Musee de l'Oeuvre Notre Dame in Strasbourg houses a remarkable collection of medieval art, at the core of which are many superb sculptures removed from the nearby cathedral (where they have been replaced with near perfect copies) as well as fine examples of stained glass from various Alsatian churches, including the renowned Wissembourg Head, one of the oldest examples of painted stained glass in existence.
The collection is housed in a late medieval & Renaissance mansion opposite the cathedral and was opened in 1931.

Time to return to Croatia, this time to the lakes at Plitvice National Park, which were one of the great places I'd never heard of before - indeed, I met a fair few people travelling along similar routes to mine who skipped them because they'd never heard of them and then were mocked by other people who went...
(This is kind of the inverse of the picture I posted before - that time I was standing on the edge of the gorge above the cave, this time I'm standing roughly where the people on the boardwalk in that one are.)
Farm & Fleet proudly displayed their record-setting (?) continual 75 days with no accidents by employees.
I thought it was unsettling that someone would be nervy enough to hang the 'The floors will be cleaned tonight!' sign just below their super-dee-dooper stats, as though a few bubbles on the wet floor and an improper set of hastily-grabbed shoes will blow the avoidable accident numbers.
