Boy I wish I knew more about this. Cousin Clyde says very small tractor is an antique lawn or garden tractor used to access places and things where the large tractor wouldn't work so well. Pull small carts. I believe the steel rear wheels with spikes are an indication that this is likely made before the 1930's when rubber tires took over. If you know more about this, please let me know. I've never seen a small antique tractor like this, pretty unique.

Further info ... Received awards in 1992-3 at Alpena Antique Tractor & Steam Engine Club (Michigan). Possibly Fordson Historical Tractor, dates 1917-1930. Models F & N.
And still further info ... Old members of Alpena Antique Tractor & Steam Engine Club say that this is likely a Sears Handiman "Economy" Tractor. They were made and sold in the 1930's. However they think this might have been made/sold during the war (1942-3) when there was a shortage of rubber and they temporarily went back to steel wheels. They say the front end is exactly like the Sears Handiman small tractors. We are going to try to find the manufacturers tag on it.

We experienced a few days period with snow or sleet. In next day from the date of this photo it started to rain and two days later practically no snow was left. Back to dark and dull November.

After a day battling roadworks and temporary traffic lights around Devon, there's nothing nicer than getting home to find a set on my street.

Nacreous clouds form in the lower stratosphere over polar regions when the Sun is just below the horizon. The clouds are illuminated from below and often glow in vivid colours. Nacreous clouds form in the lower stratosphere over polar regions when the Sun is just below the horizon. The ice particles that form nacreous clouds are much smaller than those that form more common clouds. These smaller particles scatter light in a different way, which is what creates the distinctive luminescent appearance.
Due to their high altitude and the curvature of the Earth’s surface, these clouds are lit up by sunlight from below the horizon and reflect it to the ground, shining brightly well before dawn and after dusk. They are most likely to be viewed when the Sun is between 1º and 6º below the horizon and in places with higher latitudes, such as Scandinavia and northern Canada. For this reason, they are sometimes known as polar stratospheric clouds. Nacreous clouds only form below -78 °C so are most likely to occur during the polar winter.
Because of the very low temperatures required, nacreous clouds are usually only visible from the UK when the cold air which circulates around polar regions in the stratosphere (known as the stratospheric polar vortex) is displaced and hovers temporarily over the UK. Source, UK Met office

The Cardboard Cathedral, formally called the Transitional Cathedral, in Christchurch, New Zealand, is the transitional pro-cathedral of the Anglican Diocese of Christchurch, replacing ChristChurch Cathedral, which was significantly damaged in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake. The Cardboard Cathedral was designed by the Japanese architect Shigeru Ban and opened in August 2013. It is located on the site of St John the Baptist Church on the corner of Hereford and Madras Streets in Latimer Square, several blocks from the permanent location of ChristChurch Cathedral.

There isn't a season which offers more graphic scenes than winter.
I have a love-hate relationship with it.
It appears to be very difficult to kill off the Pacers. Despite mass withdrawals at the end of last year a number of units look likely to be pressed back into service providing additional capacity whilst social distancing measures are required on public transport.
Although many people were glad to see the back of them this seems to be a sensible decision rather than increasing risk by having overcrowded trains or leaving people standing on the platforms.
Four units worked the 3Z01 ECS from Heaton, where they had been in warm storage, to Newton Heath.

Snow squalls meet CPKC 241 while it charges north of Erskine. Wind and blowing snow were already a factor before this blast of snow came through. It made for a dramatic winter scene.
This little lady showed up at our place Thursday with no ID. Made herself right at home. We have checked with all the neighbors, local vets, newspapers and stores for info. Nothing. Yesterday she got a bath. Today she goes to the vet to see if she is micro chipped. She appears to have been on her own for a while. Collar was too tight. Foot pads are dry and rough. Knows her way around a house and appears to be well mannered. Loves to play and dig. Seems to accept that this is Greta's home first. We will keep looking for her owner but for now, she is safe, warm and fed.
A bit of wasp nest blew onto fresh snow. So delicate and beautiful which is weird to say about wasps. It's amazing how quick they build and that it's only for one season - most of the wasps dying off when winter hits and their home at the mercy of it as well.

every morning this place is filled up with fog. this mythical phenomenon is created in the following manner: the bottom of the basin, although the surface is dry, contains a lot of groundwater, and the evaporation of the water over the night forms fog.

Greetings to Aviator Urbex, TS-Urbex, Urban Photo for the meeting ;)
I was in Parkanaur forest park one evening last year and only had my phone with me... ever the opportunist, I snapped these gorgeous rhododendron blossoms and was pretty pleased with the result.
Just a few days later and the petals were gone..... As always, nature has a way of teaching us life lessons... In a day and age when looks and beauty are counted so important (by the fashion/beauty industry - not by me!!!) it's wise to remember that these things only last for a while and that real beauty comes from deep within, it's the heart that counts!!!! and that's not just something "ugly" people say! :)
I will be off air for a while - have an important visitor from Canada coming to stay with me for a couple of days - so i'm busy making fudge, banoffee pie, chocolate cake and loads of other goodies lol
Have a great weekend everyone and thank you for your views, comments and faves :) :) :)
