Pulaki Temple or the local people call Pura Pulaki is one of the biggest Hindu temples in Bali located in north part of Bali. It is about 2.5 hours from Denpasar town or 1 hour from Singaraja town. This temple is kept by the group of monkeys who stand by around the temple and welcome all visitors who pay a visit to this temple. It's been three years since Steve and I last visited Thailand on our Circumnavacation. My dad has visited on business before, but this was strictly vacation. The four of us (including my mom) visited Bangkok, Krabi (Ao Nang), and Koh Lanta. We ate tons of good food, climbed a LOT, saw a lot of temples, and enjoyed some unforgettable Thailand sunsets.
The Temple of Edfu is located near the bank of the River Nile, and dates from the 3rd century BC. Building was commenced in 237 BC during the reign of Pharaoh Ptolemy XII, and completed in 57 BC during the reign of Cleopatra VII.
It was built at the site of a battle between the falcon headed god Horus and the god Seth.
Seth was the Egyptian god of chaos, and had murdered Horus's father Osiris. Horus avenged his death by defeating Seth, and banishing him to the desert wastelands for all eternity.

Photowalking Utah held its fourth annual Temple Square Photowalk this past Thursday.
Photowalking Utah events are always fun and it is great to get together with other local photographers in the area.
The only downside was that David Archuleta was performing at the LDS Church conference center one block away which caused traffic to be a nightmare.
Here is a shot of the large tree of Christmas lights that is directly in front of the statue of Brigham Young at the corner of Main Street and South Temple.
Hindu temple architecture
Earth has its energy centres that correspond to universal data centres of life and awareness. The temple, through which contacts or relations are established among the states of being (humans, spirits, and gods), is thus a combination of the data of yoga, astrology, and sacred geography. In the temple structure, there are diagrams similar to the ones described for chakras according to yoga experience, with proportions similar to those deriving from the position of the stars, by which the influence can be explained. The characteristics of site and orientation are connected to the living structure of the Earth. The Hindu temple is thus not a place where the faithful may gather but a sacred building constructed to receive subtle influences.

The Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is located beneath the cliffs at Deir el Bahari on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. Designed by the architect Senemut, the mortuary temple is dedicated to the sun god Amon-Ra and is located next to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II, which served both as an inspiration, and later, a quarry. It is considered one of the "incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt."

Karaneeswarar Temple is a Hindu temple located in the neighbourhood of Saidapet in Chennai, India. It is dedicated to the god Shiva. The main deity is Lord Karaneeswara (Shiva) and Goddess Swarnaambikai (Sakthi). This temple has a beautiful tank. The temple is heavily crowded on Pradhosham days. Annual ten day Brahmotsavam takes place in the Tamil month of Chithirai.
The Baphuon (Khmer: ប្រាសាទបាពួន) is a temple at Angkor, Cambodia. It is located in Angkor Thom, northwest of the Bayon. Built in the mid-11th century, it is a three-tiered temple mountain built as the state temple of Udayadityavarman II dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. It is the archetype of the Baphuon style. The temple adjoins the southern enclosure of the royal palace and measures 120 metres east-west by 100 metres north-south at its base and stands 34 meters tall without its tower, which would have made it roughly 50 meters tall. Its appearance apparently impressed Temür Khan's late 13th century envoy Chou Ta-kuan during his visit from 1296 to 1297, who said it was 'the Tower of Bronze...a truly astonishing spectacle, with more than ten chambers at its base.' In the late 15th century, the Baphuon was converted to a Buddhist temple. A 9 meter tall by 70 meter long statue of a reclining Buddha was built on the west side's second level, which probably required the demolition of the 8 meter tower above, thus explaining its current absence. The temple was built on land filled with sand, and due to its immense size the site was unstable throughout its history. Large portions had probably already collapsed by the time the Buddha was added.

By the 20th century, much of the temple had largely collapsed, and restoration efforts have since proven problematic: a first effort begun in 1960 was interrupted by the coming to power of the Khmer Rouge, and records of the positions of the stones were lost. A second attempt started in 1995 by a team of French-led archeologists as of 2005 was still ongoing, restricting visitor access. As of November 2010, partial visitor access was once again allowed, though not to the central structure.
In April 2011, after 51 years, the archaeologists finished the restoration of the temple. King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia and Prime Minister Francois Fillon of France were among those who first toured the renovated temple during the inauguration ceremony on July 3, 2011
