One bonus of being at Kiyomizu temple early was the relative quiet. Since it's a major destination for school trips and tour groups, the temple complex can get very crowded. We hit the temple just after the opening at 9am, and by the time we left, the place was already pretty busy. We did, however, get to enjoy the snow-dusted temple for a while without the big crowd. When the morning sun drenched the buildings with warm light, steam rose from wood-thatched roof of the front gate.

One more angle of the revered temple of Goddess saraswati in my collge campus.

A very peaceful place, especially early in the morning. By far my favourite temple in India.

The Temple Mount, known in Judaism as Har haBáyit and in Arabic as the Haram al-Sharif , is one of the most important religious sites in the Old City of Jerusalem. It has been used as a religious site for thousands of years. At least four religions are known to have used the Temple Mount: Judaism, Christianity, Roman religion, and Islam.

Judaism regards the Temple Mount as the place where God chose the Divine Presence to rest (Isa 8:18); according to the rabbinic sages whose debates produced the Talmud, it was from here the world expanded into its present form and where God gathered the dust used to create the first man, Adam. The site is the location of Abraham's binding of Isaac, and of two Jewish Temples. According to the Bible the site should function as the center of all national life—a governmental, judicial and, of course, religious center (Deut 12:5-26; 14:23-25; 15:20; 16:2-16; 17:8-10; 26: 2; 31: 11; Isa 2: 2-5; Oba 1:21; Psa 48). During the Second Temple Period it functioned also as an economical center. From that location the word of God will come out to all nations, and that is the site where all prayers are focused. According to Jewish tradition and scripture (2 Chronicles 3:1-2), the first temple was built by Solomon the son of David in 957 BCE and destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE. The second was constructed under the auspices of Zerubbabel in 516 BCE and destroyed by the Roman Empire in 70 CE. Jewish tradition maintains it is here the Third and final Temple will also be built. The location is the holiest site in Judaism and is the place Jews turn towards during prayer. Among Sunni Muslims, the Mount is widely considered the third holiest site in Islam. Revered as the Noble Sanctuary (Bait-ul-Muqaddas) and the location of Muhammad's journey to Jerusalem and ascent to heaven, the site is also associated with Jewish biblical prophets who are also venerated in Islam. After the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem in 637 CE, Umayyad Caliphs commissioned the construction of the al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock on the site. The Dome was completed in 692 CE, making it one of the oldest extant Islamic structures in the world, after the Kaabah. The Al Aqsa Mosque rests on the far southern side of the Mount, facing Mecca. The Dome of the Rock currently sits in the middle, occupying or close to the area where the Bible mandates the Holy Temple be rebuilt.

The Temple in the village of Tixall, once sited on the nearby Ingestre estate, is attributed to Capability Brown. It is a Grade II Listed Building.

The Valle dei Templi (English: Valley of the Temples, Sicilian: Vaddi di li Tempri) is an archaeological site in Agrigento (ancient Greek Akragas), Sicily, southern Italy. It is one of the most outstanding examples of Greater Greece art and architecture, and is one of the main attractions of Sicily as well as a national monument of Italy. The area was included in the UNESCO Heritage Site list in 1997. Much of the excavation and restoration of the temples was due to the efforts of archaeologist Domenico Antonio Lo Faso Pietrasanta (1783–1863), who was the Duke of Serradifalco from 1809 through 1812. source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valle_dei_Templi

I have stood at various places of natural beauty in Athens, Rome, Jerusalem, Japan, and now in Hampi that have spawned large spiritual outpourings of temple, myths, and infectious god memes. It seems to me that these places, and us, would have been a lot better off if humans were not so susceptible to this type of mind infection.

The buildings do represent an incredible amount of work and artistic beauty, however. Maybe it's just a part of our long term evolution.

Kamrup-Kamakhya Temple_Guwahati_Assam_India...

(The Kamakhya Temple (Assamese: kāmākhyā mandir); also Kamrup-Kamakhya is a Hindu temple dedicated to the mother goddess Kamakhya. It is one of the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. Situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India, it is the main temple in a complex of individual temples dedicated to the ten Mahavidyas: Kali, Tara, Sodashi, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Kamala. Among these, Tripurasundari, Matangi and Kamala reside inside the main temple whereas the other seven reside in individual temples. It is an important pilgrimage destination for general Hindu and especially for Tantric worshipers.)

Only one tower remains of the Templar complex at Temple Bruar, and that is incomplete. Only a small piece of Romanesque work can be found low down near the floor. Here's a cat-head - no wonder the Knight's Templars were accused of "worhipping" a cat! They do often seem to occur in their churches.
