My parents called this place "The Temple". You walk through slowly, solemnely and silently (not the kids sure). Some original trees are gone, but it still stays a unique place in the world :)

Virupaksha Temple is located in Hampi , 350 km from Bangalore, in the state of Karnataka in southern India. It is part of the Group of Monuments at Hampi, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Virupaksha is a form of Shiva and has other temples dedicated to him, notably at the Group of Monuments at Pattadakal, another World Heritage Site. The temple was built by Lakkana Dandesha, a chieftain under the ruler Deva Raya II of the Vijayanagara Empire.

The village of Temple was once the headquarters of the Knights Templar in Scotland from whom it takes its name, previously being known as Balantrodoch. The land was granted to the Templars by king David I in 1153 and held by them until the order was supressed in 1312.
The ruins of the old parish church date from the early 14th century.
I'm off early volunteering this morning and it's a grey dismal day. We're having a fire and hopefully baked potatoes if all goes well. Haunted eyes is by Joseph Arthur and this waterfall haunts my bleary eyes this morning.
I recently did a 4-day camping trip in the Eastern Sierras. We camped out at the Big Pine Creek Campground. On one of the days, we hiked the Big Pine Creek North Fork trail.
This is Second Lake at 10,000 feet. Soaring majestically in the background is Temple Crag.
The Otagi nenbutsu-ji temple, has a lovely display of 1,200 carved stones figures of Rakan, the disciples of Buddha, each one has a different expression to amuse or content visitors. These statuettes were sculpted by worshippers from 1980 until 1991, who gave their support and prayers to help in the restoration of the temple, which has suffered some natural disasters. I really loved this place
This is a large temple famous for zazen. The one in the picture is the annex of the temple (Eiheiji).

Temple Church is among the oldest and most beautiful churches in London. It was built by the Knights Templar, an order of crusading monks founded in 1118 to protect pilgrims to the Holy Land.
The first location of our weekend and upon arriving we knew it was going to be busy. Temple Church can be visited outside of Open House so I was surprised to see such a large queue of people formed outside. In previous years it would have been void the gaggle of noisy American tourists and their disturbingly large suitcases (nothing against my US friends, just an observation of the day). :-)
London is a funny old place, there are many churches much like this which are completely tucked away. I worked just up the road for a number of years and never knew it was here.
