Have a seat. Old teeter tauter seen at the playground at Cody Park, North Platte, Nebraska.
Cody Park on North Highway 83 is home to a collection of animals, picnic areas and a fine collection of children's rides, including a restored antique carousel with hand carved horses. In addition, this public facility houses the beautiful life-size statue of William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody, the display of flags from the tours of the Wild West Show and a collection of railroad locomotives and cars donated by Union Pacific.
In September, Cody Park is the site of our annual "Arts In The Park" event, notable for its fine booths featuring handcrafted items by local artists and craftsmen.
Cody Park is located just south of the North Platte river on Highway 83 and is comprised of 100 acres. The park has many outstanding features.

In Black Rock City, where nothing is bought or sold, it seemed pretty exploitative to make women pay for a teeter totter ride with their tits.

Lorena and Anastasia teamed up so we could all see-saw together. It worked very well despite my outweighing them by about 60 pounds. We teetered and tottered happily for a good long while.
My parents are a lot of fun :)
We took my parents and Hope to Rodeo Beach in Marin to see the ocean and give the dog some exercise before lunch.

While icy rain is coming down outside, I was looking for a warm summer shot. Moms and kids playing on teeter totters taken from the Strasburg railroad.

When the seasons change the teeter-totters migrate south to avoid cold winter weather, during these times drivers must be especially cautious.

I have a healthy fear of these (lost my 2 front teeth on one) but I'm not objected to taking pics of kids playing on it!

Harris Teeter is a chain that doesn't stray much from its' default design, in my experience. An average newly-constructed store will usually look like this Williamsburg location, but here in Norfolk's Ghent neighborhood they strayed from the norm when they rebuilt the store on this property: it's spread across two levels! I believe they went this route because the property wouldn't have been able to accommodate a new one-story 46,000 square foot building, and I'd say that stacking it was a wise decision. Not only is it practical, but for a supermarket nerd like myself it's a visual treat. Upon entry, checkout lanes and restrooms are to the left and produce/bakery/deli occupy most of the first level's front end. Behind those departments are the general grocery aisles, including dairy and frozen. The second floor is built above those aisles, and it includes the pharmacy, health/beauty, and wine, as well as another set of restrooms. This floor can be accessed by either a stairway or elevator, and there are two of each included. This isn't the company's only two-story building (Charlotte, Raleigh, and DC have them as well), but amongst all their other Hampton Roads locations it certainly does stand out!

Caution, slow teeter totters ahead?
Slow down, teeter totter crossing?
The funny thing is that in the playground around the corner there were exactly zero teeter totters.

Shadow of a child on a teeter-totter (seesaw) against the yellow flooring of Clemyjontri Park in McLean, VA.
I took the kids back to Clemyjontri Park this weekend and ended up taking a lot of shadow shots. The sun was in a good position and with the colors and all, I was really happy with a number of them. Today's image is of my son sitting on a teeter tooter. I think it is interesting how the shadow area is has a heavy yellow tint since the surface was so yellow. I also like how the image seems to be upside down since there is not frame of reference of what is casting the shadow. I tried looking at it "upside right" but it looked even more odd since the umbra dropoff was in the wrong direction, and his head became very alien.
