What a great place this was....I used to come here for drinks in the lounge... (could walk to the place, as I lived right up on Linden avenue then)...the teepee on the right.....the dining room was in the left teepee. It was always full of elderly people eating their senior specials, which I loved. A fire in the kitchen closed it down, and outwardly, there appeared to be very minimal damage, but to my surprise, and the horror of multitudes of senior citizens, this landmark was demolished!! A real travesty. Back says "Seattle's Original Landmark Built in 1937 on the shore of Green Lake. 7201 Aurora North Seattle WA 98103 (206) 783-9740"

the city trimmed the trees in the playground last week, and the kids built teepees out of some cuttings. the workers left the teepees intact instead of mulching them with the other cuttings. love my city.

I'm honestly not sure what this is meant to be, or do.

TeePee Bar & Cafe, Bowie, AZ. The best looking bar I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The inside was great. It was very cramped, with a single pool table and currency from all over the world lacquered to the wall. As you can see, you could also buy a fish dinner for $4.00. How can you beat that?

I took this photo with a Polaroid camera I bought off a crack head in Tucson. I miss that camera!

"The Teepees" were built in the 60's as part of Lady Bird Johnson's highway beautification project. Though built in the 60's, they are definitely 50's in spirit. "The Teepees" are east of "The Big Hill" on FM 170, the scenic highway between Predidio and Terlingua, Texas. The photograph was taken before dawn which is what causes the dramatic color pallette.

I was waiting for support so I decided to take a picture of the Saamis Teepee at sunset in Medicine Hat, Alberta

Glamping site adjacent to NTCarnewas.

Part of the Nakoda teepee village at the Calgary Stampede. The Nakoda (also known as Stoney or Îyârhe Nakoda) are a First Nation group, indigenous to both Canada and, originally, the United States.

They used to inhabit large parts of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Montana, but their reserves are now located in Alberta and in Saskatchewan where they are scarcely differentiated from the Assiniboine. Through their language they are related to the Dakota and Lakota nations of the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains, part of the large Sioux Nation.

They refer to themselves in their own language as "Nakoda", meaning friend, ally. The name "Stoney" was given them by white explorers, because of their technique of using fire-heated rocks to boil broth in rawhide bowls. They are very closely related to the Assiniboine who are also known as Stone Sioux (from Ojibwe asinii-bwaan).

Alberta's Nakoda First Nation comprises three bands: Bearspaw, Chiniki and Wesley.

I like the way the bluebells and sky have shifted to the same tint.

At Jocko Hollow, on the Flathead Indian Reservation, there is an rv campground. For the last several years, the campground owner has erected a teepee frame on the easement between Hwy 93 and the campground and placed a sprinkler at the top to spray water. A teepee ice sculpture results...

There was a news article in the Missoulian recently (it's not online anymore or I'd link it) stating that he has received an order from the state to move it off the easement as it poses a hazard to motorists. Since it's at least 50 yards off the highway AND a vehicle would have to dive off a bridge AND continue for about 40 yards beyond to hit it, I can't imagine how it can be a hazard. Since it obviously can't be moved, the state has told him to place it elsewhere next year.

Anywhere else we won't be seeing it as we drive by. So...

this being the last year for this site, I decided I should take a photo...
