On Thursday, November 7th, the Career and Technical Education department at Newman Smith High School inducted 34 members into their newly formed chapter of the National Technical Honor Society. The National Technical Honor Society is a nationally recognized and proven national honor organization with thousands of member schools and colleges. To be eligible for membership, students provided documentation of academic success, regular school attendance, membership in a CTE student organization, and community service involvement. NTHS student membership is an important career and professional investment recognized by education, business, and industry. Benefits of membership include scholarship opportunities, personal letters of recommendation by NTHS National Headquarters, and potential recruitment by top corporations, colleges, and universities. Newman Smith High School attributes the large number of inductees to the quality of its CTE department and to the dedication of its CTE faculty members. Congratulations to all 34 inductees!

Technical - F/16, shutter speed 1/200 sec, overcasted sky diffused backlight. 10AM
Composition - Sun place in upper left of the frame and centering the tree in the Lowe side of the Fram to give lots of negative "head" space.
Content - Tree sitting in the middle of a field of sage brush. The tree still stands and has damage I believe from a wild fire not too long ago and is almost as white as the snow and then also has tons of frost on it. The sun behind in the backlight helps to separate the tree form a background that is all white as well, but still allows it to be seen has very white.

About an hour into the show the music equipment started acting up and they had to stop the show to figure things out.
Meanwhile, Kevin Drew got on the drums and the rest of the crew sat down/laid down and started jamming out with no mics. It sounded great. :)
