I started modelling the character by using a single plain and extruding around the mouth and then extruding all around the face and the body, this means that the character is only one mesh, except for the eyes and eyelids which are polygon spheres within a lattice. After modelling I created a UV map to texture the main mesh of the character using reference to ensure the colours were correct to the original. The next step I took was to rig the character, I originally just applied a basic skeleton adding the facial rig after. I then skinned the entire rig starting by flooding the entire mesh with the root joint and then adding all influences as I worked up the mesh. I then added all of the controls using nerbs and parenting them to the joints. I then started the animation staring out by blocking out the main movements, I then came back to add the lip sync and finally added in the subtle movements of the characters.
