Midnight Matador, Texas Tech University’s longest-serving horse, died Tuesday (Feb. 3) due to complications from colic surgery. He was the 13th horse to ride for Texas Tech’s Masked Rider program and served for 11 seasons. The only Masked Rider horse to come close in length of service is Happy IV-II, who served an eight-year term from 1980-1987.

The Texas Tech University (Lubbock) mascot, The Masked Rider, traditionally rides a coal-black horse, and makes appearances at football games and other events.

My son attended Texas Tech from 2007-2012, graduating with a computer science degree. I had the honor to see Midnight Matador close up at Parent Weekend and at several football games.

Made during my father's childhood. As a BMW i3 hums by, a moment to reflect how tech evolution moves on. How much our perspectives change. Though some things don't seem to, like human nature and its pride, self interest, shortsightedness, ... We are currently in a global race to fabricate synthetic lives for ourselves, person-made everything, corporation and brand lead. But at heart, we're still hard-wired as human beings, and nature still exists out there. There must be a billion times the tech in any cell phone, compared to this car. Though I imagine that rolling across rural southern France before WW1 might have been more fun than any iPhone unboxing. Interesting that in areas like health science, in some aspects, we haven't move forward in the last century. Nor have our lifestyles. But each of us has some choice in what stars we follow, where our dreams lead us.

Public colleges, institutes and universities throughout B.C. are being engaged as part of a plan to invest in additional tech-related seats, announced Melanie Mark, Advanced Education, Skills and Training Minister.

“It’s critical that British Columbians are equipped with the right education and training for good-paying jobs in a 21st-century economy,” said Mark, who today met with a number of tech employers in Vancouver. “We’re building up British Columbians by improving access to affordable education and training so they can take advantage of growing tech-sector opportunities.”

The eye of Mina Harker; also known as Vampire Hunter and a vampire itself.

The beautiful smokey eye itself from every women cant be judge. The beautiful lady like Mina Harker will lose her addictation on human blood at night when the night falls with great full moon..

So here's my daily dose of geekness. I got a new phone. Well actually it is a new minicomputer that can also telephone. Can you believe that this thing has a dual core 1.2 GHz processor. Probably the same power that desktop computers had 8 years ago...

Anyhow I am very glad that I could grab one. They are still rare.

This is the K-tech KTR-3 fork we are going to use in our Bott M210 Moto2 bike.

This KTR-3 fork has closed cartridge direct damping system front fork with cutting edge technology for the highest level of racing. The system consists of a 20mm displacement piston with a 31mm control piston to give ultimate feel. The system is pressurised by a coil spring for constant pressure at any temperature and is totally sealed within the fork for constant damping forces.

The Tech Tower located on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta was erected in 1888. Today, the building houses several administrative offices of the university. The building is one of Atlanta's enduring icons.
