Des Moines Public Schools is going to finish the school year through distance learning, and is working to distribute computers to any of their 33,000 students who need one. But first the IT staff needs to make sure everything is in working order. Caught up with the two tech specialists at North High School - Amanda Dvorak and Mike Lucht - as they got laptops ready to provide the next morning to 200 of the school's senior class.
I am packing for my first trip to NECC in Washington DC. So far I have included the items pictured. Still need to pack AA batteries, the camera I used for the photo, and some band-aids (for possible blisters). I know I am forgetting something....but what?

The boss' office. Anybody who was somebody got an air conditioner ... they're sprinkled all over the site in these little offices. The rest of the workers got huge industrial strength fans that they could move around the floor as needed.
