We headed to the Big Apple for a Tech Cocktail mixer & startup showcase. At New York City’s Center for Social Innovation, the latest and greatest batch of startups innovating out of New York had an opportunity to hop on stage and pitch their ideas before an excited and energetic crowd.
Startups that showcased: Circumrent, CommonKey, LookBooker, LumiFi, picsell, Rockerbox, SketchFactor, SocialRank.

Un gimnasio techado, camarines, baños, salas multiusos, oficinas, bodegas juegos infantiles y una nueva sede para la Unión Comunal de Juntas de Vecinos, además de áreas verdes, contempla el nuevo Complejo Polideportivo que la Municipalidad de Viña del Mar construyó en el primer sector de Gómez Carreño.
La obra que en su primera etapa, significó una inversión cercana a los 500 millones de pesos fue entregada a los vecinos por la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato, durante una ceremonia en la que además estuvieron presentes los concejales Pamela Hodar, Mafalda Reginato y Jaime Vara, el director de la Casa del Deporte, Javier Aravena, la presidenta de la Unión Comunal de Juntas de Vecinos, Beatriz Cabrera e invitados especiales y vecinos.
Al hacer uso de la palabra, la jefa comunal destacó la gran inversión que en infraestructura deportiva se ha llevado a cabo en los últimos años en Viña del Mar.
“Con la construcción de este complejo estamos cumpliendo el objetivo de dotar a todos los sectores de la infraestructura necesaria para que los viñamarinos puedan practicar deporte como se merecen, significando una inversión de más de 7 mil millones de pesos en la construcción y mejoramientos de recintos”.
Agregó que “a las instalaciones que hoy se entregan próximamente se sumará la segunda etapa luego que el Concejo Municipal aprobó recientemente, la suma de 333 millones de pesos, para iniciar la segunda etapa del complejo, fase que contempla una cancha de tenis de arcilla con iluminación, camarines para la cancha de fútbol, torres de iluminación y obras complementarias como graderías áreas verdes, áreas de picnic, juegos infantiles y estacionamientos”.
Por su parte la presidenta de la Unión Comunal de Juntas de Vecinos de Gómez Carreño, Beatriz Cabrera se mostró muy contenta por la concreción de este proyecto tan esperado por años por los vecinos, agradeciendo a la alcaldesa Virginia Reginato por su gestión.
“ He vivido muchos procesos sociales y deportivos de la comuna, y el proyecto Viña Ciudad del Deporte, responde claramente a los anhelos de los niños, jóvenes y adultos. Viña del Mar se ha transformado en un modelo para todas las ciudades del país y eso nos enorgullece”.
El director de la Casa del Deporte, Javier Aravena, en tanto, indicó que “con la construcción de este nuevo complejo – que se agrega al estadio municipal Botafogo- seguimos sumando a los habitantes de Gómez Carreño al plan de desarrollo deportivo comunal que llevamos a cabo en la Casa del Deporte y que beneficia a todos los viñamarinos”.
