We heard from Khira's mother that she really wanted to learn how to draw animals. So her mother came up with a fun activity and drew dotted lines which Khira could then trace and learn how to draw animals. We love the idea!

Jeff was teaching a one day class on budgeting and financial accountability to the Maasai ministry leaders. Many of the men came from areas all over Maasailand, not just in Ewaso N'giro and Narok region. To Jeff's left is our team leader, Dan Crum.

I had fun teaching this lady how to drop spindle! She was so cute. It was so satisfying to see how eager and excited she was to learn. I'm not the best teacher but I think she got it!!

Our local coordinator in Honduras with Abroaderview traveled to a rural area of Honduras to celebrate birthdays of the local children and the Independence day of Honduras. You can see the pictures that show how the children have to cross rivers to get to school every day. On Oct. 30, Teaching for Change hosted an interactive event to introduce the 2nd edition of Putting the Movement Back Into Civil Rights Teaching at Busboys and Poets Brookland. This was part of a TFC/BBP series and a 35th TFC anniversary event.
Presenters include the editors (Jenice L. View, Alana D. Murray, and Deborah Menkart), SNCC veterans (Courtland Cox, Judy Richardson, and Jennifer Lawson), and lesson authors (Lynda Tredway and Paula Young Shelton). Educator Jessica Rucker was the emcee.
Attendees ordered food and drinks throughout. Following the program, there was a book signing with the editors of "Putting the Movement Back Into Civil Rights Teaching" and also with the co-editor of "Hands on the Freedom Plow" and author of "Just Like Jesse."
