Yeah...I was a Cub Scout, too. Shut up.
Sunday brought a rarity for Western NY in November a lovely 65 degree day. We took advantage of the warm spell by getting done some outdoor chores like deadheading all our landscaping, raking and even putting up our Christmas Lights.
We won't turn them on until December but it's a lot nicer putting them up when it's 65 out compared to last year when it was less than 20.
Johnny still had Llama, Llama so we made it seem like he was helping and got tangled in the cords. Ahhh the things we do for our children!

When I want to tangle flower-like shapes, I look to two designers first: Sandy Steen Bartholomew and Sandra Strait (aka Molossus). I also use the book by Sandy named Totally Tangled. Sandra is a prominently featured designer in the book. Their tangles I used, with some variations are: by Molossus: Kisses. Marnariana, Kristy's Crown. By Sandy: Mumsy, In Bloom, and Yes. Also used Dust Bunny by Margaret Bremner, which looks more like a flower than dust to me, lol. The tulips are mine. I haven't drawn them detangled yet; but if I do, I'll name them Twolips.
The watercolor paper I used was really cheap and pilled easily on the colorwash background. I used Inktense pencils to do the watercolor. The original is 5.5" square. Hope you like it.
I've been SO inspired by all the color that I thought I would give it a shot. I think I still have a long ways to go but its a start. I'm hoping on the next one the color will flow better.

OK, here are some more molossus tangles. Wisket, Opeto, Pickerel, Pipkin, Zapatealo, Sisilhoa, Galatea...(wow, those names; hope I got them right). I messed up almost all of them; but like the overall effect anyway. And I officially cry Uncle, Sandra! When I said I'd do all your tangles I thought you had 10-15 of them; not close to 300!!! I may do a few more now and then, but consider the challenge complete, lol!
