The Mekong River as seen from the river bank in the town of Kampong Cham, northeast of Phnom Penh, mostly populated by the Cham peoples. Families spend time on the river fishing, their livelihood. Their catch is daily brought to market.
We found this waterfall just off the Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Banff in Alberta. The highway is one of the most scenic in the world with peaks, lakes and waterfalls at every turn. Nothing short of a Shangra La, otherwise known as Jasper National Park.
This is an example of my new tangle, Cadenza.

Today's dailyshoot assignment is to make a photo that is full of orange.
This was taken with my Nikon D40x and Lensbaby 2.0 with 4.0 aperture and long exposure.
I placed a piece of texture art (woven branches) over an orange curtain and let the daylight glow through, then added a spotlight from below and slightly to the left to add depth and detail
I know what you're thinking. "Another long exposure, Derrick? Really?" Yes, but, this actually accurately depicts my day. I was a burst of crazy energy today. Just ask anyone who saw me. Now I'm not really sure why I was so energetic. I had no additional caffeine, sugar, or anything of the sort. One theory is that I got precisely 8 hours of sleep last night, so maybe I was just simply well rested. In any case, it was a fun day.
I've watched Tangled four times since Thursday morning.
So if a digitally animated male outcast wants to kidnap me and sing with me on a canoe in the midst of bokeh-floating-lanterns... I'd be cool with that.
Disney Princesses (whereas I'd love to be one) are mischeivious little sirens in disguise. And by that I mean they're gorgeous. And therefore I overkilled my face with this. My eyelids are even wedge-shaped. Geezzz Disney.
Oh, the tangled webs we weave.... If only the adults would learn to tell the truth....

Conversation of the day.
Student: "I brung crispy turkey bacon for lunch today!"
Me: "I see that."
Student: "Do you know how long it takes to cook turkey bacon?"
Me: "I think so. Do you know how long?"
Student: "Yeah.... a lifetime!"
What made it even funnier was that he was serious. The rest of the conversation was about how he ate a cooked squirrel once at his grandpa's house but his mother wouldn't let him eat more because it was bad for his teeth. Yeah, right.
And they pay me for this job! :)
This was the horror behind our twin desks when we moved them. They'd been untouched for nearly six years. Urgh.
Happy Fenced Friday - a tangled fence in Weybourne, Norfolk for your delectation.

Washing lines tied to the pole my neighbour and I share.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look at my photo and make a comment or Fave it.
Due to misinformation on the length of the walk along the footpath between Milina and Lafkos, the sunset found us midway. It is a steep but easy ascend with great views over the Pagasitic bay, but I still wouldn't go down in the dark.
