Left the house just after midnight to head up to Algonquin for the day. I wanted to get up there and have a few hours before the sun came up since it's a great time to spot the wildlife and then planned to shoot sunrise at one of my favorite locations in the park. The wildlife co-operated. The sunrise didn't.
Even though sunrise was a bust, the tree's were at peak color and the whole park looked transformed from my last visit a few weeks ago.
I spotted my first Algonquin Wolf and saw lots of Moose. The Rut has started and one group was easy to find throughout the day and gave everyone a really nice view when the bull decided to breed with his girl three times right on the road. Surprising since she still had a dependant baby.
Hopefully I'll be able to get back there for a few days in the next week or so.....I wish this time of year lasted longer!

Last month I've ordered this Tangled paint-by-numbers kit, and yesterday I just finished it. It's quite interesting.

my friend's daughter just celebrated her 5th birthday and i was asked to put together a Tangled cookie platter for the party. i completely forgot to take proper pictures, but luckily i did take a couple of random photos just for myself while they were sitting on the cooling rack. this isnt the best photo, but you get the idea:-) since my platter photo is a bit messy from being taken at the party, i thought i would post this as well.

The branches of our climbing hydrangea are all over our back wall and fence and very much tangled. However, there will soon be lovely yellow flowers bursting from all the buds.

Zendala Dare 9 from thebrightowl.com. Thought it looked a little busy, but I still like it. Lots of tangles from Sandy Bartholomew's book, including two from Sandra Strait. Played with framing after looking at some of ledenzer's beautifful framed work.

This the the Heart from my Tangled Love tutorial. I have made several of these for family members - but as usual, I made my own last. All of the hearts have different bails - this one was made almost 2 years ago in preparation - I just finally got to the actual pendant. All have Iolite trillion briolettes in the center of slightly different hue intensities - this one is the darkest and also the one that tends most toward purple - although I am not sure I caught that.
All of the hearts are somewhat individual, but this one differs mainly in the application of LOS, making the details really shine. I guess it could be considered a darker, moodier piece than the others. But actually, I consider it protective - the cradling dark blanket signifying protection of a beautiful but delicate and easily broken center.
There is another photo of the back side of this heart.

I saved little bits of leftover embroidery floss snippings each day as I stitched - over the past couple of weeks and glued them to the page.
I may keep adding to this page until it is completely covered ... but for now, I am ready to move on.
