Just after sunrise Saturday morning, the light was just right to capture these snowdrops in the Landscape Garden. The wind was gusty, so I had to wait for brief moments of calm to get the shot. Chicago Botanic Garden Mar 10, 2012 L1000776.dng
These two Cattle Egrets have to find a bigger home as they seem to be a bit crowded. The one's left wing is open to expose the beautiful colors inside. Like a beautiful Angel ready to take flight. The other one probably caring for the hatchlings as its nesting season. This and the other water bird photos were taken last week when I flew down to Delray Beach to see my Dad, my son and my brother and his two boys for a while. My Dad and I slipped over to Wakodahatchee Wetlands a couple times. Love that place.

the vines are mostly Cissus antarctica. The rock is sandstone from the Narrabeen group of sedimentary rocks. Either that, or it is a sandstone boulder from the Hawkesbury group, that fell down from the cliffs above.
I've got this cute Rapunzel today! She is from the Good Smile Company, nendoroid-series. They also made Belle, Tinker bell, Ariel and other disney characters.
Last month I've ordered this Tangled paint-by-numbers kit, and yesterday I just finished it. The painting process is quite interesting.

Acrylic, Ink, Watercolor, Latex and Household on Fabric
Night's falling, time to visit the garden of tangled dreams. The dreams weave an intricate pattern, making bizarre connections between events from different times in life.
I worked on a piece of vintage fabric, woven in an interesting fashion, sifting the light in certain spots but completely obscuring it in others. I was intrigued and used this feature in the artwork: many layers of latex, acrylic and calcium carbonate from crushed eggshells are adhered to the surface but these junctions where the light sifts through are left to breathe and let the light in. You may prefer to accentuate this feature by hanging a light fixture under this painting for a wonderful effect.
This piece was inspired by Paul Klee's textural paintings, and the basic grid explores his train of thought. The fabric is stretched on a wooden frame, and is adorned with corded silk ribbons, couched to the canvas in freeform embroidery. Many layers of blue colour create a wonderful depth and accentuate sculptural elements in this artwork. Soft becomes hard, and fabric gains a new meaning open for a variety of interpretation.
