Its my Princesses birthday today and this is the cake we drew a picture of. Rapunzel's tower out of tangled. it had to have Maximus the horse ans the Prince dude. It was so much work!!!!!!
from a walk on a foggy winter morning. I was struck by the way the sun filtering through the fog picked out the colour of the mosses and lichens and caused them to glow in an almost fluorescent fashion.
This is some kind of junction box for telephone wires or something. Hopefully no longer in use - I think some birds are making a nest in it...
Lobby of the El Capitan Theatre. Large scale figures and artwork from Zootopia.
I saw Tangled at the El Capitan Theatre on Saturday February 20, 2016 at 7 pm. It was a wonderful experience, especially since I had never seen it in a movie theater before. Also they had the special guests Mandy Moore and director Nathan Greno appear before the showing the film. They were both charming and funny, and Mandy looked lovely. They did some Q&A, and helped in the raffles. The big prizes was the artwork created and signed by Nathan Greno and a big poster of Tangled, which was also shown on the big screen throughout the preliminaries before the movie. Also on the stage, a guy proposed marriage to a girl from the audience (she was told that she was the grand prize winner of the raffle), and fortunately she said yes.
After the showing of Tangled, they showed Tangled Ever After. It was nice seeing it again, and I think I enjoyed it even more this time, since the audience was so into it.
Afterwards I took a photo of a couple of cosplayers of Anna and Elsa, who sat a couple of rows in front of me, and sang along with Let It Go when the house organist played it in its entirety. There was also a good looking Flynn and Rapunzel couple in the lobby, but I didn't take photos of them.
what do i live for ?
a sense of joy that
sometimes makes it
all worth fighting for
...lovely as the wind
that takes my breath
and breathes it in...
oh no...not again
did i really fuck it up again ?
it seemed so close this time
got tangled up...
got caught inside
- the cranes
A nice entanglement of roots I found in a nearby park. This was the B&W out of the camera. I liked to mood and the contrast. Must have taken a long time for the root to grow into such a tangle.
On my morning walk I spotted this adult Canada Goose with a leg tightly wrapped in fishing line. The bird was still present in the afternoon and the Oakville and Milton Humane Society was called. While waiting I tried baiting with bread but I was outsmarted when the goose noticed that my bread throws were bringing him (I think this is a male goose on size) ever closer and he sprinted away. When the Humane Society arrived we all worked together to successfully catch the goose and remove the line. The line had cut quite deeply into the leg and would eventually have led to the loss of the foot.

I've been wanting to try Dot Klerck's (eat cake party) 3D Tangled cake, but was going to reserve it for my daughter's 5th birthday party... When this order came, i thought I can have a little play with just a styro tower... Tower topper was fun to make, but at 2am in the morning, I had to say enough is enough on the roof tiles lol!!!
Thanks Dot Klerck you are such an inspiration, I love your work!!!
Three young Slow worms quite content to spend a sunny afternoon under a rock in my garden.
I just cannot resist looking under the rock every now and again to check up on them. For scientific reasons of course....
This is what remains in Autumn after what I think may be a type of Clematis finishes flowering. On an overcast Winter day they resemble greyish cotton wool balls. In bright sunshine the delicate feathery tendrils catch the light and gleam revealing a tangled filigree pattern.
The original photograph was taken looking into the sun to catch the light. I've converted to sepia and used a gradient fill because I ended up with a very strong brown bokeh in the bottom right corner. (Was so concentrated on the lighting failed to notice the dead hedge I was leaning against doh!). Also I found sepia enhanced the details; black and white was not so good. I used Dappled Sunlight On A Wall as a texture layer.
I took a photograph of this plant last August Bad Hair Day. when they were in flower. If anyone knows their name I'd love to know - They fascinate me !
Edit: Thank you all for your interest in this photograph and for your lovely comments and compliments. Tangle actually made a brief appearance in Explore (#279 5 April), which is amazing !
A big thank you to Klaus for his Wikipedia link. I've now discovered that this is indeed a Clematis, Clematis Vitalba, also known as Old Man's Beard, because of its' seed heads.
These are the flowers of Clematis Vitalba, which I also have a photograph of Dreaming of Spring. They look nothing like the Clematis in Bad Hair Day, yet both photographs where taken on the same day and the plants were growing out of the same hedge lol!
I've ordered this kit from my local shop, it's paint-by-numbers, very easy to paint and quite funny.
