Quick, let's get out of here! I spotted this Red Kite roosting in a tree. I couldn't get the camera on him quickly enough before he took off, but I really liked the wing shape he created.
A tangled mess of arteries and cells intricately weaved together, all fed by the flow of blood can be shut down with a small minute piece of matter. A piece of matter too tiny to see that can travel the highway of veins in your head and stop anywhere it wants causing havoc for the rest of the body.
My other half had his second stroke on June 2nd, the exact same day as the year before. After a week in the hospital they believe they found the problem. His left Carotid Artery is almost completely blocked. So much so, that they can not do a stint. They are going to have to cut out the artery in his neck and replace it. All this is complicated by the fact that he has Stage 3 Kidney Failure and most of the procedures cause damage to the kidneys.
Then, just three days after getting him home with instructions to keep his stress low, his mother passed away so were going to have to go with "as Stress less as possible".
He is doing OK, still has a little weakness on the left side and problems with his left hand, can't tie his shoes, falls down periodically, drops things and waves like a girl (Just kidding, he did that before). His surgery should be in about two or three weeks to remove the Carotid Artery and that is when I will be able to just breath again.
