I've finally decided to dust my holga down and try and have fun with it again, I have found some old film from around 4 years ago and have managed to accidental do some double exposures.
I found this one while searching through photos from a 2007 road trip to the American Southwest. I was struck by the single white blossom, surrounded by large, dark green leaves and a tangled web of previous years' stems, set against the glowing red rock of Utah's southern region.
This is a Sacred Datura (Datura wrightii), a plant with many monikers: Jimson Weed, Angel's Trumpet, Belladonna and Moon Lily, to name a few. It is a perennial, deciduous herb that loses its leaves in winter and can live for at least three years. The stems can grow to several feet in height and width. Blossoms are very large, often over 15 centimeters (6") long and 7 to 10 centimeters (3 - 4") wide. The trumpet-shaped flowers are a brilliant white, often with a purple tinge in the centre and around the margins. They open in the early evening and close again in the morning, to avoid the heat of day, although on cloudy days they may stay open longer.
"The Sacred Datura, through its night-blooming flowers, evokes a feeling of mystery, and it has long been used as a portal to the spirit world, visions, hallucinations and witchcraft— dangerously so. With all its all of its tissues containing chemical compounds known as 'alkaloids,' the plant is extremely poisonous, with the concentration of toxic levels varying from plant to plant." Sacred Datura grows on well-drained, sandy soils in open or disturbed ground and often on roadsides or in washes, from northern Mexico and the adjoining southwestern U. S. states, as far north as southern Utah. We found this one on the Wire Pass Trail, a beautiful, easy, 9-kilometer hike in the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, near Kanab, Utah.
This fence is from the entrance to the windmill farm. I was photographing the entrance fence when they drove in and gave me permission to go down to the pond.
Happy Fence Friday everyone.
I spent a little more time in the forest recently. I'm looking forward to revisiting some of these scenes with different conditions. Thanks for looking!
When nap time calls for double the snuggles ! These two feline friends are living their best lives, all tangled up on warm ground . Pure purrfection captured in a frame .
I have uploaded a few photos of Tangle Falls. It is one of my favorite places to scramble around on the rocks to get different viewpoints. It usually isn't very crowded but sometimes you have to wait for a few people to get out of the way.
As I mentioned, the Tangled Garden has turned their potting shed into a tea house. I's so cute and quaint. I took several shots inside, this is the first. The light was definitely a challenge!
This is a different, wider, more colourful view of a B&W shot I took last weekend at Ramster Garden, Chiddingfold, Surrey.
Shot using an Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mk II + M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12‑40mm 1:2.8 PRO. I also used a 0.9 SE ND Grad filter, Polariser, and tripod.

Close-up candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Once again having to add more contrast than I would like, and some artificial grain, to make a slightly soft image acceptable. I am quite the perfectionist when it comes to sharp focus and my lens has been struggling with fast moving subjects of late. I couldn't let this shot pass me by though, I loved the stark striping on her top and the tangled cable. Enjoy!

Many thanks to Lenabem-Anna & SkeletalMess for the textures :)
More rain and more rain and no time to get out so have satisfied my cravings by trauling back through old files and reworking.
🇬🇧 I couldn't resist to take this one. I’ll come back there when some mist kicks on!

🇪🇸 No pude resistirme a hacer esta foto. Volveré cuando haya algo de niebla!
Old portable Smith Corona Manuel Typewriter: I bought this typewriter new over 50 years ago when I was in high school. It was purchased from a school & office supply store in Hillsdale, Michigan USA.
In this photo, the ink ribbon has become entangled in the type levers. This close up lets you see the detail on some of the the type bars at the end of the levers.
The manual typewriter was replaced first by the electric typewriter, but then typewriters as a word processor were replaced by computers/laptops/tablets etc..
A photo of the typewriter from which this macro shot was taken can be viewed here.
