This is the second of the images that will be appearing in Y Sin Embargo magazine.
The subject of my work for the magazine explores the relationship between analog media and their digital counterparts.

The night is gone, now comes the dawn. I would like to stay here forever, with this silent landscape that whispers to me the first 2014 tale.
The Thousand Pillar temple is the signature attraction of Warangal (India) but is quite serene. And these ladies found some space to sit and chat!

I'd seen Harry a few times around Slough town centre, sitting in his wheel-chair, always with his hat on and usually keeping company with a number of other guys. He is someone I'd wanted to photograph for a while but always shied away at the last moment with nerves. Today my luck was in, he was sat all alone smoking his pipe and when I approached him with the request rather than the gruff response I was expecting he agreed straight away. But I didn't take the shot straight away, I wanted to find out about Harry, hear about his life, how he worked for Sieko around the world, fell on hard times with drink and his numerous encounters with the law. I would like to say we chatted for ages but actually Harry spoke and I listened, perhaps it was his Irish roots but Harry knows how to tell a tale.
After a while I took a few shots, and he was insistent that he stood up from his chair so I could get "his best side".
I'll post some more shots of Harry from when we were chatting and I suspect these won't be the last you see of him now that contact has been made - I'm going to take a few prints back to him anyway and I want to listen to him more as well.

A few of you know about my fear of bridges, a full-fledged phobia that goes back to childhood. I’ve worked on it and been worked on with not much success. I did not know that a guided nighttime hike would cross a river on this decaying swaying suspension bridge, a bridge that another guide confessed that his father, a structural engineer, would not cross. So, onto the bridge. In the dark. In lashing tropical rain. With the wind blowing my poncho over my face repeatedly. I gritted my teeth and gripped the rusty cables, forcing the feet to walk. I got to the far side shaking. Then I realized I’d have to do it again to get back.

Moonlight tales
In icy beds beneath starless nights,
Empty beds echo the chill of lonely sighs.
Lost in dreams, she wanders, a sleepwalker's plight,
Humming a fable forgotten by time's ties.
Longing and desire, blind her weary eyes,
Yet hunger persists for love's sweet bliss.
A silent melody on the wind softly flies,
A lament of the heart, in whispers it insists.
Her gaze, a portrait of sorrow, to the heavens it flies,
Moonlight, only you can mirror her torment's twist..

Selva de Irati, Navarra, España.
El bosque o la selva de Irati (Iratiko oihana en euskera) es un bosque repartido entre el norte de Navarra (España) y los Pirineos Atlánticos (Sola y Baja Navarra) en el suroeste de Francia.
Por su parte española está situada en el valle del río Irati, entre los montes de Orzanzurieta y Roncesvalles al oeste, y el monte Orhi al este. El límite sur lo pone la imponente mole de la Sierra de Abodi. Los principales accesos son por el oeste por Orbaiceta (Valle de Aézcoa) y por el este por Ochagavía (Valle de Salazar).
Se trata de la mayor masa forestal de Navarra y uno de los mayores y mejor conservados bosques de hayas (Fagus sylvatica) y abetos (Abies alba) de toda Europa. A pesar de ser un bosque explotado forestalmente desde los siglos XVI-XVII, el respeto y el buen hacer de los habitantes de estos valles ha hecho que se conserve en total plenitud. Existen dentro de la zona diversos espacios protegidos: todo el Irati es una ZEPA (Zona de Especial Protección de Aves), así como zonas protegidas como Reserva Natural o Reserva Integral del total de 17.000 ha del bosque.
La Selva de Irati es conocida por ser el segundo hayedo-abetal más extenso de Europa (sólo superado por la Selva Negra de Alemania), con 17.179 ha. En el hayedo predomina esta misma especie, el haya común, pero también aparecen salpicadas multitud de especies asociadas a la elevada humedad y al sotobosque tales como el abedul, el tejo, el acebo, el arce, el tilo o el serbal. La otra especie destacada de la Selva de Irati es una conífera: el abeto blanco, el cual forma bosques mixtos con el haya en las zonas bajas y es más predominante en las zonas altas y en las laderas de umbría.
Las cara sur de muchas de las estribaciones montañosas están salpicadas de otro árbol hoy con manchas de extensión mucho más pequeñas de la que tuvo antiguamente, el roble pubescente.
En 2015, el descubrimiento de una planta carnívora, la Drosera Rotundifolia y el Eriophorum Angustifolium, un tipo de junco lanudo, valió a la Selva de Irati la inclusión en un programa de protección a nivel europeo.
Además de los bosques, Irati contiene una gran riqueza faunística, donde destacan los ciervos (Cervus elaphus), cuyo celo o berrea puede disfrutarse en otoño, los corzos y los jabalíes. También es común el lirón gris, la marta, la nutria, el desmán de los Pirineos y el musgaño patiblanco.
Existen numerosas especies de aves, de las que algunas son especies en peligro de extinción que encuentran aquí uno de sus últimos reductos, como los pájaros carpinteros, pito negro (Dryocopus martius) y pico dorsiblanco (Dendrocopos leucotos), entre otras. Entre las rapaces, podríamos destacar el quebrantahuesos, el halcón peregrino o el águila real
Irati contiene además varios endemismos pirenaicos tanto de flora como de fauna, como el tritón pirenaico (Calotriton asper).
The Irati forest or jungle (Iratiko oihana in Basque) is a forest distributed between the north of Navarra (Spain) and the Atlantic Pyrenees (Sola and Lower Navarra) in southwestern France.
For its Spanish part, it is located in the valley of the Irati river, between the Orzanzurieta and Roncesvalles mountains to the west, and the Orhi mountain to the east. The southern limit is set by the imposing mass of the Sierra de Abodi. The main accesses are to the west through Orbaiceta (Valle de Aézcoa) and to the east through Ochagavía (Valle de Salazar).
It is the largest forest mass in Navarra and one of the largest and best preserved beech (Fagus sylvatica) and fir (Abies alba) forests in all of Europe. Despite being a forest exploited from the forest since the 16th-17th centuries, the respect and good work of the inhabitants of these valleys has made it fully preserved. There are several protected areas within the area: the entire Irati is a ZEPA (Special Bird Protection Area), as well as protected areas such as Natural Reserve or Integral Reserve of the total 17,000 ha of the forest.
The Irati Forest is known for being the second largest beech-fir forest in Europe (only surpassed by the Black Forest of Germany), with 17,179 ha. In the beech forest this same species predominates, the common beech, but there are also dotted a multitude of species associated with high humidity and the undergrowth such as birch, yew, holly, maple, linden or rowan. The other outstanding species of the Selva de Irati is a conifer: the white fir, which forms mixed forests with beech in the low areas and is more predominant in the high areas and on the shady slopes.
The south faces of many of the mountain foothills are dotted with another tree today with much smaller patches of extension than it once was, the downy oak.
In 2015, the discovery of a carnivorous plant, Drosera Rotundifolia and Eriophorum Angustifolium, a type of woolly reed, earned the Irati Forest inclusion in a protection program at European level.
In addition to the forests, Irati contains a great wealth of fauna, where deer (Cervus elaphus) stand out, whose rut or bellowing can be enjoyed in autumn, roe deer and wild boar. The gray dormouse, marten, otter, Pyrenean desman and whiteleg musgaño are also common.
There are numerous species of birds, some of which are endangered species that find here one of their last strongholds, such as woodpeckers, black woodpecker (Dryocopus martius) and white-backed beak (Dendrocopos leucotos), among others. Among the birds of prey, we could highlight the bearded vulture, the peregrine falcon or the golden eagle
Irati also contains several Pyrenean endemisms of both flora and fauna, such as the Pyrenean newt (Calotriton asper).
In a desperate search for a title for this (I'm really at a loss for titles lately), I searched for quotes using various combinations of words this photo made me think of, and "pond fairies" brought up:

As a member of a family of Doctor Who geeks, this works for me.
A Small pool of water, some playful colored fishes in it, a rejected feather, a floating shell and the ripples on the water reflecting the cloudy sky……..everything is so trivial, and nothing is so important in everyday busy and civilized life. But the joy of 'watching and wondering' never stops for few who are out of the place in this busy world. The fairy tale was being told there every moment in the apparently hidden canvas by the supreme artist sitting elsewhere in the infinity! I never knew how time had flown in hours looking at the canvas saying to myself “ What a Wonderful World”……!!!!!

The woods near my home in Eriksberg is creating a fairy tale mood.
A fairy tale or fairy story is a fictional story that usually features folkloric characters (such as fairies, goblins, elves, trolls, witches, giants, and talking animals) and enchantments, often involving a far-fetched sequence of events. In modern-day parlance, the term is also used to describe to something blessed with unusual happiness, as in "fairy tale ending" (a happy ending) or "fairy tale romance", though there are notable examples and genres of fairy tales that do not end happily. Colloquially, a "fairy tale" or "fairy story" can also mean any far-fetched story.
