So I have been tagged. Of course I knew it would come sooner or later, I just didn't know where the arrow would come from exactly :-)

Well, the implicit rules now force me to tell you 8 completely, absolutely useless things about me. Don't complain, I am in no way responsible here. The one to blame is Lifer...

Here we go :

1) I live in Brussels, under the sky of Brel, Magritte and Delvaux. As you may know, Belgium is not a nationalist country. However, we shall NEVER NEVER let the Swiss declare they have got the best chocolate in the world. Stop kidding, the best is ours.

2) My mothertongue is French. I am ok with English, and I can survive without problems in Polish. During my school and university years I also learned Dutch, Italian (not to mention Latin), though unfortunately I don't master any of these languages anymore. One day, I would love to learn Japanese.

3) My favourite book is "The Lord of the Rings". I can say I learned English thanks to it. At that time (no, I won't tell you my age !), The LOTR had been translated in French already but none of the Appendices. As I was quite motivated, I took a dictionary and began painstakingly and painfully translating the appendices, word after word, line after line, page after page. I don't remember how far I went but when I stopped, I had more or less mastered the structures of the language. The drawback, of course, is that it would be easier for me to buy medieval weaponry in English than to ask something in a do-it-yourself centre. By chance, I hate hammers and nails.

4) Though, to my knowledge, I have not a single drop of English blood and I never stayed in UK longer than a couple of days, I often wonder if I don't have hidden English genes. I love Beowulf and Tolkien, Connolly (Joseph), Hornby and Lodge, Oscar Wilde or Keira Knightley, Lewis Caroll, Emily Brontë, Oxford or the Monty Python... Despite Nigel Farage and cucumber sandwiches, I believe that a nation who invented snooker and Emma Peel cant' be totally bad. No, seriously : I can sit and listen to British English for hours, without even paying attention to the words, just for the pleasure of its inimitable music.

5) Movies I love incude Dead Poets Society, Le Grand Bleu, Pride and Prejudice, Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain...

6) When time allows, I am a novelist.

7) In my Second Life, I am not escaping, I am not hiding, I am not pretending, I am not schizophrenic. I am telling you a story, for what I hope to be your enjoyment, and my main character is named Aelin Quan. The difference with a novel being that through your words and messages, you help me build that story, day after day - it's very much a collaborative one.

8) Though she is a fictional character, a large part of Aelin's feelings are obviously mine. I feel authorized to say here that Aelin likes the works I like, and that she likes the people I like. This means (a message I feel important for my FlickR and SL friends) that if her wardrobe is 100% virtual, her feelings are 100% genuine...

Next up, here's a photo I'm really proud of! This is from the Gap Factory Outlet store in Southaven on the north end of Airways at South Lake Centre (not to be confused with the Gap Factory Outlet on the south end of Airways at Tanger Outlets). They had two tall metal-shelved carts stuffed with shelf tags and other miscellaneous product identifiers just sitting out unattended, so naturally I took advantage of the photo opportunity. This one turned out by far the best: I was so excited that my camera was able to give it the effect I wanted! Usually when it focuses, it has everything in focus, and I lose the often-cool focused/unfocused effect. There's probably a better term for that, but I'm on here more for retail photography than technical photography, so forgive me :P

I prefer to avoid changing things up (I intend never to change my user icon), but I couldn't resist making this my new header photo :)

UPDATE, 9-21-16: This photo had a good run, but the time has come to put up a new header...

Kim was my 1st one, my 1st Pullip, my 1st love!!

I always wanted a Fashion Doll named Kimberly, because is my favourite name and i can't give to a "real" daughter 'cause isn't a common name in Brazil...

So I started to look for the perfect Pullip for me. Malu gave me some tips and the first time I looked at Pullip Chill I knew, she was my little one, my Kimmie-cup, my mini-Luly!!

- I always LOVED playing with dolls, my moments next to Barbie were the bests of my childhood. Now my Barbies lost their stuff to this "new" passion that'll never end!!

1. I just learned how to juggle the other day and I really wanna showcase this over flickr so I think I may post a video soon. (I actually already made the video, hehe)

I got tagged a couple of times. I thought I'd write ten photographic facts this time. The people I tag don't have to, of course. I just wanted to do something different.

1. I still have two rolls of film to develop.

2. when I haven't placed a song with my photos they feel incomplete.

3. I need more polaroid 600 film but it's so damn expensive.

4. the stuff on my face is lipstick… it won't come off completely and now I look sunburnt.

5. Tumblr has given me so much photographic inspiration.

6. I really want an f/1.4 prime lens, maybe a 50mm.

7. my flash sync cord still won't work on my camera and I don't know why.

8. I need people to model for me because I'm sick of taking pictures of myself.

9. for every 365 shot, I make up my ideas on the spot and usually try to wing it.

10. it's always a pleasant surprise to see my own photos on people's tumblr sites.

Well, I have been tagged. Not once, not twice, not…well a shitload of times and I’m so sorry for the long delay…but here goes.

First out to tag me was the amazing Ainsley Joseph which portraits and lighting skills are just mind blowing.

Here are some random facts about me – it should be ten but I added some more as a bonus.

One of these facts “has to be” false. Figure it out…

1. I’m the youngest of three brothers

2. I work as a project manager. Been in the IT business for over 15 years…

3. I almost never watch TV. Life is so full of other things to do…

4. I have two lovely children, Leo (10) and Tess (8)

5. I’m not able to lie…please don’t take advantage of this! ;)

6. I have had long blond hair and a piercing in my eyebrow

7. I love trying new things…

8. I go “all in” on all things I do

9. I have problems choosing between all the new things, which I go “all in” on, so in the end I’m getting wasted and forced to do something about it…

10. I’m a sponge when it comes to knowledge - from particle physics to the great questions of life. Have at least 10 ongoing books…

11. I’m divorced

12. I love being out in the nature and I’m concerned about our lovely little planet

13. I have a cat called “Misse”. He is never inside the house during the summer and almost always inside during the winter. Strange? ;)

14. I’m a handyman and not afraid to get oil, dust and dirt on myself

15. I try to always be positive.
