Very old alarm clock made by Peerless. Encased in the original Bakelite case.

All parts, face and hands are original and presently this clock does not work.

I'm not certain of the exact age of this clock.

Insulator Lamp - Made with a vintae glass Hemingray #9 insulator.

What can we say?

When this came off the table in the studio we were blown away! Built on a reclaimed lamp base, this beauty features a vinatage percolator that hides a red flashing C7 bulb that lights though a large glass dome. At the base is an orange "curly" bulb that not only simulates rocket blast, but lights the little red light on the percolator's base. Also featured is a vintage melmac blinking sugar bowl (with lid) and melmac cup with a swirl bulb simulating a planet! New fabric cord and three-way switch that controls all components. 20"H x 20"W

My latest cut paper lamp. Pictured here lit up with a energy efficient compact fluorescent bulb. I worked through exhaustion to get this baby done for the show. I was up until 5am.

Beautiful bedroom in the National Trust's Belton House.

The story goes that when they came to hang this hand-painted wallpaper there was great alarm when it was realised that there was a shortfall and the paper would not cover the whole room. As they could not order more the novel solution was to move the huge rear wall forward by three feet! As a bonus, this trick made a neat servants' passageway behind the re-positioned wall.

TOY LAMP: COWBOY

Artist: Julia McLain

9" x 9" x 48" tall

Around 2007

Handcrafted: Mosaics, vintage toys and illustrated by artist

Each were constructed from existing lamps. I dremeled out the toys. Each took about a month to complete.

I mosaicked the base of all lamps. The stands are all made out of old (and some new) squeeze toys, banks, Sippy cups and Christmas ornaments. I hand constructed all the lamp shade frames then papered them. Each shade is illustrated using imagery inspired by vintage toys, games and other memorabilia. The shade is coated with acid free glue. The final touches for most are very fine crystal lamp prisms. The circus lamp is finished off with vintage tensile. Each has been expertly checked by lamp specialist. A very low wattage bulb is advised.

NOTE: These lamps are designed for adults and not children as they are fragile works of art.

Great lamps! Not really magnolia, tall for artichoke... Definitely vintage--look to be 1970's-1980s, from looks of cording & plug.

Part of a display of Tiffany lamps at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Richmond, Virginia. The Fish and Water Lamp is attributed to Clara Driscoll (1861-1944); it's made of leaded glass, bronze, copper and mosaic-glass tiles and dates circa 1900-1901.

I got myself a banker's lamp, or to be more precise, a modern imitation of Tiffany's artistic re-interpretation of the classic banker's lamp. In the background is a large monitor I sometimes use, although most of the time I use my notebook computer.

This was a test shot with the Nikon 85/1.4G lens. Although the lens does not have any aspherical elements specifically designed to fight coma, CA, flare, etc., it does a remarkably good job of handling light sources.
