Table grapes are varieties of grapes specifically cultivated for fresh consumption, as opposed to grapes grown for making wine, juice, or raisins. They are bred to have characteristics that make them appealing for eating, such as a crisp texture, plump and juicy flesh, and a sweet, mild flavor. While some varieties may have seeds, a large portion of the table grape market is dominated by seedless varieties for convenience. Table grapes are also visually appealing, with uniform size, thin skins, and a variety of colors, including green, red, and black.
The key differences between table grapes and wine grapes lie in their physical properties and chemical composition. Wine grapes are typically smaller, have thicker skins, and contain seeds, all of which contribute to the tannins and complex flavors needed for winemaking. They also have a much higher sugar content and greater acidity, which are essential for the fermentation process. In contrast, table grapes are grown to be larger, with a lower sugar content and less acidity, making them a more refreshing and enjoyable snack straight from the vine.
Growing practices for table grapes also differ significantly from those for wine grapes. Table grapes are often grown on high trellises that allow the grapes to hang independently, promoting good air circulation and protecting them from excessive sun exposure. This method helps to produce the large, visually perfect clusters that consumers expect. Furthermore, table grapes are often irrigated to achieve their plumpness and are cultivated for high yields to meet consumer demand. The harvest window for table grapes is also much wider than for wine grapes, which must be picked at a precise level of ripeness for optimal fermentation.
Made for the Shakespeare Theatre's most recent production of Othello.
It had to be sturdy and durable, yet light enough that lead Avery Brooks could flip it every night.
As expected the legs were damaged several times during the run of the show. But since I had made them removable, repairs were easier than they otherwise would have been.

This was my first project requiring power tools! Just used a kids table with foldable legs. Nice thing is that we can fold it up and store it when we aren't using it.
I used the Blackwork Sampler pattern to make a table runner red. It took forever, but it was a fun project. Most of the patterns are repeated once.
We are studying the art of table top at school. I choose to photograph some Origami stuff because I love paper, specially the texture and colours of the Japanese ones.

Sweet glass and crystal table lamp crafted from vintage lamp parts with a "shabby" handmade shade. Lamp's overall height is approximately 22 inches. New electrics.
Here is the overhead shot of the finished table. I love it. It was a lot of work, but well worth it.
