Archer Artillery System - Think Defence

Translohr is a Light Rail system manufactured by Lohr Industrie of France. It is used in Clermont-Ferrand, Tianjin, Padua and in the mainland Mestre district of Venice in Italy.Translohr differs from other light rail systems in that it runs on rubber tires and is guided by a single central rail, and is commonly referred to as a guided bus system.

The Translohr system is intended to provide a much more tram-like experience than that provided by guided bus systems. Unlike guided bus systems(including the similar but incompatible Guided Light Transit system developed by Bombardier Transportation), Translohr can run only where there is a guide rail in place as there are no steering controls. Like a conventional tram, power is provided by overhead wires and collected with a pantograph, although the vehicle can also run on internal batteries (arranged in packs) on sections of the route where overhead wires are deemed to be undesirable. Because Translohr LRVs cannot run without a guide rail they are not classified as a type of bus.

The Ural-375 is a General Purpose 4.5 ton 6x6 Truck, which has been produced at the Ural Automotive Plant in the Russian SFSR since 1961. The Ural-375 replaced the ZIL-157 as the standard Soviet Army truck in 1979. It was itself replaced by the Ural-4320. The Ural-375 was used, for example, as a platform for the BM-21 Grad Rocket Launcher, Troop Carrier, and as a Supply Carrier. The Ural-375 comes in a variety of models, the list is very exhaustive:

▪︎Ural-375 - Base model, it has a canvas roof, and no steel cabin.

▪︎Ural-375A - The same but has a slightly longer chassis.

▪︎Ural-375D - The most produced 375, which has a proper all-steel cabin.

▪︎Ural-375E KET-L - Recovery Vehicle equipped with a front-mounted and a rear-mounted winch along with a jib crane.

▪︎Ural-375S - 6x6 Tractor Unit.

▪︎Ural-377 - A 6x4 civilian truck.

▪︎Ural-377S - 6x4 Tractor Unit

▪︎Ural-375DM - Modernized version of the Ural-375D, built at least until 1991.

Tropospheric Scatter, also known as ''Troposcatter'' is a method of communicating with microwave radio signals over considerable distances, 310 miles and further depending on frequency of operation, equipment type, terrain, and climate factors. This method of propagation uses the tropospheric scatter phenomenon, where radio waves at UHF and SHF frequencies are randomly scattered as they pass through the upper layers of the troposphere. Radio signals are transmitted in a narrow beam aimed just above the horizon in the direction of the receiver station. As the signals pass through the troposphere, some of the energy is scattered back toward the Earth, allowing the receiver station to pick up the signal.

Normally, signals in the microwave frequency range travel in straight lines, and so are limited to line-of-sight applications, in which the receiver can be 'seen' by the transmitter. Communication distances are limited by the visual horizon to around 30 to 40 miles. Troposcatter allows microwave communication beyond the horizon. It was developed in the 1950's and used for military communications until communications satellites largely replaced it in the 1970's. Because the troposphere is turbulent and has a high proportion of moisture, the tropospheric scatter radio signals are refracted and consequently only a tiny proportion of the transmitted radio energy is collected by the receiving antennas. Frequencies of transmission around 2 GHz are best suited for tropospheric scatter systems as at this frequency the wavelength of the signal interacts well with the moist, turbulent areas of the troposphere, improving signal-to-noise ratios.

Autocar Heil Freedom Superlight Curotto can

Back in November, WMmaster626 and I went to Moreno Valley and found a truly one of a kind refuse truck, especially in SoCal! A Autocar Heil Freedom Superlight Curotto can, unfortunately we were not able to film it in November and often WMmaster626 and I would talk about the superlight and wanting to film it. So on 1/22/16 we went to Waste Managements Moreno Valley MRF, waited for the Superlight to arrive and followed it to Unincorporated Perris/Riverside. During our November visit we spoke to a real nice driver named Dave who has been with WM for 27 years. We talked to him for a while and eventually NEWCO Waste Systems got brought up and he talked about WM Moreno Valley getting some of their routes in 1999. Unincorporated Perris/Riverside is the area Dave must have been talking about. Many of the NEWCO carts WMmaster626 has filmed in Arcadia were in this area. There were NEWCO zarns, 96 gallon blue and black toters even black and blue Rehrigs and of course 96 gallon black Turn-Keys along with NEWCO dumpsters that were still blue with NEWCO logos on them. We also found a Heil Python on route that was fun to watch.

So between the Superlight, the Python and perhaps the biggest shock, a ex NEWCO route it was a great day full of surprises. Thank you WMmaster626 for coming and arranging today, Thank you John (Superlight) and Raul (Python), you are both very professional and efficient drivers. I would also like to Thank John Curotto and the Curotto staff who made this awesome carry can. AFL’s have always been my favorite refuse truck. I grew up with S.T.S. Autobuckets, Heil Autocans and of course Curotto cans, so thanks for making this amazing carry can!

Invented in 2009, the Superlight is a Curotto can that is lighter than the Slammin Eagle. The dumpter is primarily made of special high strength Kevlar fabric and weighs only 1,200 pounds (compared to a Slammin Eagle which is closer to 2,000 pounds).

A context free grammar with associated transforms in the plane and RGB space made these...

rules like

a -> bc

b -> bd

but never like:

d -> dd

each symbol is associated with a rotation, shift and scale in the plane, and a step in a direction in he RGB color space.

There are to real terminal symbols, termination occurs when the sub-tree would be less than a pixel in size, and the pixel at the resulting position is coloured.

Much like an L-System, I would say.

Actually because the tree overwrites itself in the image, does that make it context-sensitive, in that the result depends on other symbols? Certainly you need the image buffer as well as the stack to represent the process.

Tried a couple of times, worked well on the Vista laptop!

Then installed WIN 7 over several ours, and seemed OK, but then ran into problems and applications that wouldn't start or crashed, so took it back to the cmputer shop I bought it from a few years ago to insatll WIN 7

Took them a week to stop it crashing with WIN updates that kept causing crashes, which they blocked till a better update arrived!

2nd Shelf Left: CD Player; analog out ($20,000)

2nd Shelf Center: Network DAC; knows FLAC, MP3, AIFF, etc. The rep says it performs better than their CD player. I didn't ask the cost, but figure somewhere in the $20k range.

3rd Shelf Center: Analog Preamp

Bottom Shelf Left and Center: Power conditioners

The stack on the right consists of four 500 watt amplifiers each responsible for powering a single driver in the top most cluster of the right speaker and the bottom shelf is an electronic crossover. The cluster consists of a super tweeter, tweeter, midrange and mid bass.

Connection went something like this:

CD Player -> Preamp -> Crossover -> Amps -> Speaker

This was the best system of the show. Not by a long shot, but it was the best.
