Underrated Korg keyboard. A mixture of presets and programmable synth sounds. The programming itself is very simple but with ring mod, S&H and 2 Joysticks (both with the tips missing. Anyone got spares?) this is capable of some classic prog rock sounds, especially when you detune the preset sounds and the synth sounds.

Super-fun happy game: spot the gear! Circa 1999.

It's interesting that I was pretty happy with mono monitoring (from a keyboard amp) and discarded ironing boards for keyboard stands.

Actually the ironing boards (vintage ones with real heavy wood and iron) were quite nice looking, but they were a drag (hehe) to haul around...

After painting and reorganizing my studio, it's almost done!

Pic (taken by the seller) from a recent Ebay auction. From the listing description: "These switches are for different instrument sounds. They are presets of brass, reed & voice, air reed, bow string, pluck string, & strike sound on the 1st 12 switches. The other 3 are synthesizer effects (space sound 1&2, cat/frog sound, & noise/ring modulator)." "The input jacks read as follows: control knob for audio, 1st V.C.O. syncro, V.C.F. frequency, and CV & Gate. The outputs are: Key Gate, 1st & 2nd syncro, and low and high audio."

This is the modular as of April 2007. Note the still uncomplete milton sequencer. Everything else works...

The numbers speak for themselves.

Hang on a minute, no they don't - they are gobbledegook.

The key things here are -

time 17287 - that's 5 1/2 hours I think since i went sudo ./piana.bin

audio pkts 11893672 - that's close to 12M packets of 64 samples delivered, and still counting

wfails 4 - the number of time ALSA underran. All 4 happened in the first second of booting up the synth, thereafer, smooth, glitch-free, and very low latency - because

alsaBig 228 - the deepest level of FIFO seen during the lifetime of the application

Overall latency is running at some 256-320 samples, 7ish ms. That's pretty damn great.

Early in 2007 I got busy building rev 3 of my modular cabinet. I reused the end pieces, but everything else is new. Notice the mounting brackets that didn't need to be cut to fit, the upgraded power supply, and a back, so the cat can't jump into it.
