...a mating pair of House Finches drinking in harmony at the birdbath. Both can be seen in more detail in the next two images.
Good morning. I thought I would close out the birdbath series for the season with some images taken this past summer. These will be the last photos posted this year as most birds that visit have dispersed or headed south to avoid the oncoming winter.
Take care...and I hope everyone has a great day.

American White Pelican (pelecanus erythrorhynchos)
I have never seen anything quite like this before.
American White Pelican; Pelecanus erythrorhynchos; Other than changing to B&W, this was the in-camera capture; Merced NWR
When I opened up this image, I got a kick out of seeing both dogs with their hind feet up off the ground in the same way. The little Jack Russell mix is ours.
I like... the synchronicity of the birds against the blue water.
I don't like... That they are just behind the wall of ice that has built up on the shores of Lake Ontario... and that I didn't have the 600mm lens attached.,. so this is a cropped section from the 300mm shot.
Sandhill cranes are migrating through the area. Now is the time to photograph these birds near Othello and the Tri-cities, Washington. IMG_0051
Watched the American Pelicans fishing as a team today! They made a half circle, then it was heads down and bottoms up as they dived in unison!
I try to seize the opportunity to capture this kind of synchronicity.
This often happens unintentionally.
My initial intention was to frame the contrast between the woman in the background picking up trash and the beautifully dressed couples smiling happily and looking for a date spot.
Suddenly, the door to the store on the right side of the screen burst open and the man came out to throw away the trash.
So, because I was trying to frame the two people momentarily, I couldn't balance the distance between the subjects or the visible size.
The subject on the left is captured too small.
Anyway, I tried to capture the simultaneity of the two characters' attitudes towards trash.
But to be precise
One person was trying to throw away the trash and the other was trying to pick it up.
