Copying footage from my recording SSD to a less-volitile home on an external HDD. I'm very happy with my two HyperX drives.
No footage of something crawling to the surface of a dark Scottish lake, however.

Only the rush hour hell to face.
Packed like Lemmings into Shiny metal boxes.
Contestants in a suicidal race.
Another extraordinary synchronicity-being at the right place at the right time and not being noticed.
A reconstructed clockwork?
Interestingly, an orange and a red box break the color scheme.

This flower abstract was made using the reverse lens macro technique. This time, I used my 10-24mm lens mounted backwards on my camera....this gets you so close, it's like another world :)
I'm always happy when I can combine my love of flower photography with my love of abstracts!

KRUNK presents, Strategic Synchronicity – an incredibly rare four-day event featuring the first ever LA solo-show by the internationally acclaimed graffiti artist & true pioneer of the American Urban Art movement – Futura. This once in a lifetime event starts on Thursday September 18th and will only continue until Sunday September 21st (in a secret location in Downtown LA). Then it's gone.
This, as perhaps Futura's most anticipated body of work ever, will showcase his extraordinary talent with a range of original canvases and drawings. Fans and art collectors will have a narrow window of opportunity to purchase original Futura art, with prices starting from $1,500 and upwards. The exhibition will not only showcase his new work but will also take a genuinely evolving organic form - a work in progress. This will be a truly historic occasion for fine art and street culture in the U.S. and should not be missed.
"LA was an obvious destination for me to showcase this collection. The city has so many incredible creatives who I consider as friends and whose work I respect enormously. It's about time I hit LA particularly with this collection. Above all, I'm looking forward to having some fun presenting AND creating this new work in LA." Futura
What to expect: Futura's past experience merges with his vision of the future, combining his tendency towards meticulous precision with his trademark free-flowing spraycan techniques. His art appears effortless in its abstraction with commentary on themes such as 'space' and 'the future' and his interpretation of 'the present'. Those lucky enough to be present might spot an 'old friend' in his work (perhaps for the last time?) as well as some incredible advancements and developments of his art form:
Futura has always had a keen interest and somewhat of an obsession with the latest technologies, so expect to see canvases stretched onto aluminium (in order to prevent warping due to environmental factors), pieces complemented by specifically devised music scores and film trials and much more.
"I consider this collection my best work yet, when I started on it I could feel myself about to explode. All these years of development and it reflects my growth and evolution. I want this work considered on its merits….and in that sense, I'm going right back to the beginning." Futura

Feeding the Fish at the Gadget Show Live 2010
These guys were amazing with their light show they performed at the Gadget Show Live 2010 at the NEC in Birmingham. I could not resist in taking some shots.
This one was post edited using Topaz Adjust 4 which is an amazing program.
Here is their website www.feedingthefish.com/
Information
The Gadget Show is a British television series focusing on technology and is broadcast on Five. Originally a thirty minute show, it was extended to forty-five minutes, then later to one hour. The theme tune used is "In The Machine" by Barrie Gledden. Repeats have also aired on the digital channel Fiver and the satellite channel Bravo as well as Five's Internet on-demand service Demand Five. In Australia, it is aired on The Lifestyle Channel.
Each week, the show previews and reviews the latest gadgets, and broadcasts the latest technology news. The show is aimed at giving the mass consumer an insight into the gadget world and in addition, it aims to give enough information for the more "geeky" or knowledgable audience, but still making it accessible to the more casual viewer. The show has featured Blu-ray Discs, video cameras, MP3 players and other technologies. A segment showing viewers how to get the most out of their technology is also often included along with a competition to win anything from £5,000 to £28,000 worth of new gadgets. Each series usually contains a special episode focusing on a particular technology conference or expo. Past conferences include CeBIT and The Next Fest.
Series 5 saw a slight tweak in the format, with the three presenters hosting from a studio base, although a lot of the show still takes place outside of the studio. The studio sections are filmed at The Custard Factory on Gibb Street in Birmingham, UK. A recurring theme in the updated format is a regular challenge between Jason and Suzi (and occasionally Jon and / or Ortis), typically set around particular gadget(s) and their testing or use based around it. Another addition is that now the week's main featured gadget(s), typically reviewed by Jon, is given a 'G rating' from one to five. The seventh series, which started on 29 October 2007, saw the running increased to one hour. From series 8, there is also a new "Top 5" feature which consists of the Top 5 gadgets in a certain category. At the start of the eleventh series, a new item was introduced, called the "Wall of Fame" where Ortis or Suzi and Jason pick their favourite gadget from a particular category that they think changed the face of modern gadgetry, and then Jon picks the one to win and go up on the wall. There are also several other recurring features (such as 'Top 5' - looking at the best products from various categories; and 'The Focus Group' - testing products with various groups of people, who vote for their best one) which are featured in episodes on a semi-regular basis.
The show also offers a competiton, (answering a multiple choice question, by phone, SMS or postal entry) that gives the winner on some occasions up to 180 prizes.
For 2010, the programme received a rebrand centred on the typeface "Museo". This included refreshed titles and break bumpers.
Also in 2010, the show will be seeing the release of a supporting magazine called 'The Gadget Show Magazine'.
i am proud of this wonderful cake i baked and decorated for a friend of mine's birthday. i hadn't baked in several years! i used this amazing all natural organic chocolate cake/frosting mix i got at a natural foods store. so yummy. no corn syrup or hydrogenated oils...just natural ingredients for cake like they used to bake in the olden days...much tastier and healthier than the fake stuff!
Thinking of a tiltle when The Police song "Every Breath You Take" sprang to mind.
I have always enjoyed the melody and lyrics, so why not :-)
Album: Synchronicity
Genre: Pop, Rock, New Wave
Released: 1983
This song was originally thought to be about angels, government, parents, or people that want the best for us. But actually, the lyrics seems the words from a sinister, controlling character, who is watching every move we make. Sting, the singer, said about this song: “…I think I was thinking of Big Brother, surveillance and control…”. The song reached #1 on the UK charts for four weeks and also it was #1 on the US Billboard Music Charts for eight weeks. “Every Breath You Take” ranks #84 on the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time (by Rolling Stones magazine) and #25 on Billboard’s All Time Top 100.
synchronicity - the simultaneous occurrence of causally unrelated events and the belief that the simultaneity has meaning beyond mere coincidence.

Kate and I are big fans of Miyazaki's "My Neighbour Totoro". Knowing this, a friend of ours (Rob Phall) brought me back some Totoro phone-bling from a recent trip he made to Tokyo. In the UK phone-bling is more usually associated with teenage girls but who cares, I think it looks great. But imagine my surprise when I went to lunch with two work friends (Richard Banks and Murray Sim) and Richard put his phone on the table and he also had Totoro phone-bling that his wife had bought him years ago! Needless to say the tree spirits all had a good time together while we chatted about Murray's internship project. Thanks to Murray for the photos.
Earlier today, (12/21/09), during this Christmas break from teaching at Florida A&M University, I had the opportunity to catch up on my readings in an ongoing research project that I was doing. One of the books that I been reading earlier today was "Through the Eyes of Science, Myth, and the Trickster: Synchronicity" by Allan Combs and Mark Holland, New York: Marlowe & Company, 1996.
Later that evening, there was a knock on my front door. It was a door to door salesman selling snack items to raise money for a youth organization. At first, without opening my door, I stated that I was not interested. Then for some reason, I did open the door and explained that I was sorry, but I wasn't interested in buying any of his items.
During his introductory sales pitch he introduced himself and said that his name was George Clark. I immediately became suspicious and asked him for his ID. He showed me a picture ID and it stated that his name was George J. Clark from Jacksonville Florida. I started asking him questions about why he was in my neighborhood, why did he come to this particular house, if he knew me or had ever seen me before; to which he answered no to all my questions. He seem to become nervous and uneasy with my questioning; so I then told him that my name was also George Clark. I wish that I would have had my camera at that point because besides almost losing his balance on my porch, the expression on his face was priceless.
I asked him if he has ever heard of the concept of synchronicity and explained it to him when he told me that he hadn't. I also told him about my research project on synchronicity and the fact that I had been reading a book on the subject earlier that day.
I asked him if I could take his picture to document this experience and this is the result.
So I will end with one of my hakus:
So, who is George Clark,
is George Clark really George Clark?
Synchronicity.
SYNCHRONICITY:
"The experience of two or more events as meaningfully related, whereas they are unlikely to be causally related. The subject sees it as a meaningful coincidence, although the events need not be exactly simultaneous in time. The concept of synchronicity was first described by Carl Gustav Jung, a Swiss psychologist, in the 1920s."
Submitted for your approval: on Sunday, November 24th 2013, cosplayers at the Richmond Virginia and Long Beach California Comicons take the same picture (basically) although they are 2,827 miles apart. Coincidence? Or has the time-space continuum begun to collapse on itself?

Every Breath You Take: The Police, Synchronicity
This is probably one of the most popular songs about basically stalking someone. This has been covered and sampled by countless artists, and is probably one of The Police’s most popular songs.
I remember when this song came out and the video for it. I was just a kid so I didn’t really think too much on the meaning of the lyrics. Later on I realized what it meant to be stalked and yet I never really thought that being stalked was that big of a deal… it is. It really is.
Being stalked really is not a laughing matter, and I can say that from experience. I have been stalked, trailed and followed by people in the past and I will say that complete strangers are far more scary than people you know, mostly because you have no idea what their intentions or capabilities are.
I did have a time in college when I was stalked by a girl- to the point where she would sneak in my apartment and wait for me to come home. Thankfully she’d get busted by my roommate and get thrown out, but I did have an occasion where she didn’t get caught and scared the crap out of me. I can laugh about it now for sure… but not at the time.
To make it worse the next day we had a rehearsal for a gig and it was an open rehearsal (a lot of people came to hear us jam and just hang out). The girl was there in the audience with her friends, and I was back stage setting up my gear. The guy singing vocals and rhythm guitar stepped up to the microphone to do a sound check and said “This one’s for you [last name]…” He played this song riff and everyone started laughing-apparently the story had gotten out though it wasn’t by me… that’s about the only time I could laugh about it because she never snuck in my apartment again.
*** Artist Notes ***
Stalker Binoculars I guess… this tree was dropping spiders: literally. As I was taking the shots I kept getting hit with spiders and mosquitoes. Thanks, Texas.
Lyrics:
Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you
Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you
O can't you see
You belong to me
How my poor heart aches with every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
Since you've gone I been lost without a trace
I dream at night I can only see your face
I look around but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you
see it on large panoramic screen in darkness

There's a little black spot on the sun today
It's the same old thing as yesterday
There's a black cat caught in a high tree top
There's a flag-pole rag and the wind won't stop
I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain
There's a little black spot on the sun today
(That`s my soul up there)
It's the same old thing as yesterday
(That`s my soul up there)
There's a black cat caught in a high tree top
(That`s my soul up there)
There's a flag-pole rag and the wind won't stop
(That`s my soul up there)
I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain
There's a fossil that's trapped in a high cliff wall
(That`s my soul up there)
There's a dead salmon frozen in a waterfall
(That`s my soul up there)
There's a blue whale beached by a spring tide's ebb
(That`s my soul up there)
There's a butterfly trapped in a spider's web
(That`s my soul up there)
I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain
There's a king on a throne with his eyes torn out
There's a blind man looking for a shadow of doubt
There's a rich man sleeping on a golden bed
There's a skeleton choking on a crust of bread
King of pain
There's a red fox torn by a huntsman's pack
There's a black-winged gull with a broken back
There's a little black spot on the sun today
It's the same old thing as yesterday
I have stood here before inside the pouring rain
With the world turning circles running 'round my brain
I guess I'm always hoping that you'll end this reign
But it's my destiny to be the king of pain
King of pain
I'll always be king of pain
I'll always be king of pain
I once over-exerted the Bentos brainbox in an attempt to understand C. G. Jung's theories concerning what he called "synchronicity". This resulted in a kind of double hernia of the brain which gave me an enduring aversion to heavyweight eggheads and confirmed me as a middlebrow.
Even so it's an interesting subject and, when you become aware of them, coincidences are so common that you begin to wonder whether they can be entirely ...well, coincidental. We all know the kind of thing. You think of someone and he walks around the corner a few seconds later, or you come across a new word and look up its meaning in the dictionary, only to encounter it twice a day for the next week.
Almost the last photo I submitted to Flickr before leaving for a short holiday was entitled "The Barbapapa of Buses". The Barbapapa children's books were, I think, French in origin, but a cartoon version, probably also French but re-voiced for English consumption by Michael Flanders, was shown by the BBC in the 1970s. I don't suppose I'd thought of Barbapapa more than two or three times in the 30 years since, but when we arrived at the holiday cottage we'd rented in southern Belgium, stone me if the custodian didn't give me the keys on a Barbapapa key fob! Well ...it certainly makes you think, doesn't it?
This character is, I am sure, Barbamama. Other members of the protean Barbapapa family that I can remember are (of course) Barbapapa, Barbalib (who liked reading), Barbalala (who was musical) and Barbabrave.

They think my shoes would be an inspiration to the kids. they want permission to use an image of a pair of my shoes with the image tagged as my creation, on a promotional poster. i am honored and thrilled to be part of this! i am taking a class called "grief and loss" and i paint shoes. this is magical synKRINGnicity! wow.
