...quintessential dichotomy of a light switch

Intrigued the way they use the word 'fused' rather an fuse.

I recall when I was a little boy I would stay in the model railroad pavillion at the county fair for 2 to 3 hours at a stretch while my family played on the midway.

They were not happy with their view I guess!

Having just crossed West Grand Blvd., this CSX GP38-3 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMD_GP38-2#Rebuilds) is seen pushing two cars into the area just down river from the Ambassador Bridge.

This area used to be quite extensively covered by rail, including the Wabash and Pere Marquette boat yards, the Union Belt of Detroit's 21st Street Engine Terminal as well as the coach yard for the Fort Street Union Depot.

Very little of this infrastructure is still in existence today.

I finally got to meet Kris and Klae today! Rene's Kae, too. Please see the "i fiori arcana' photos for the shot we did of our Switchies today. XD

(I Fiori Arcana - the watermark used in the other photos - is an idea that [http://www.flickr.com/photos/60089861@N08] and I will be expanding on, which'll involve most of our Switch sculpts. )

Anyway, my first impression of Kris was, 'he is so intimidating!' and then it became 'he's cool'. Heh. I'm really impressed with [http://www.flickr.com/photos/gibriancrow/]'s face-up! It's really much more awesome IRL than in my photos.

Please enjoy the photos. :D

I think Switch back is the name of this little piece of trail

The switches work, the volume and tone don't - it's always on '10'. The duct tape is functional, as the pickguard has a corner broken off. Careful unplugging is paramount.

There were also some screws and nails in this guitar that didn't belong there - the strap for example; attaches to a random screw.

It's pretty banged up, though not intentionally reliced. Proper wear 'n tear 'n abuse FTW!

This is the main on-off switch before rewiring. The flex (left) had been replaced before (and the person that did it didn't think to connect up earth) but the old original wire is in a sorry state (and probably not safe).

Today we walked roundtrip on the Galloping Goose Regional Trail (GGT) from the Switch Bridge Station to Selkirk Station and back.

What a beautiful day for a walk! Yes, we have pictures-to-prove-it.

We took copious amounts of photographs some of which will be entered into the Tap Into Trails Photo Contest which is a five week campaign promoting sustainable choices that include active living and choosing our local tap water.

Our local tap water is in all our local foods and it makes up 78% of our body weight -- and that's a good thing. After all, Sooke Lake Reservoir is fed by a protected, forested watershed, which means our water supply is naturally clean and clear.

Take a walk, run or cycle the Regional Trails (Galloping Goose, Lochside and The E& N Humpback Connector) where you are able to replenish your supply of safe, clean and delicious CRD drinking water. Ten new fountains have been installed along Regional Trails that are drinking bottle friendly, accessible and provide fresh water for your pet.
