This problem appears to be caused by the design of the shutter being different in the 320 model. Switch C does not go from open to closed as you cock the shutter like it does on the 340 and 350. It goes from open to closed to open to closed as you cock the shutter. This confuses the PIC. I would not recommend this mod on this shutter. I have tried it with the 340 shutter (the same as the 350) and this problem does not occur.

This switch connects to the siding formerly the Saratoga and Schenectady ROW.

This switch is used to put the microcontroller in flash mode, so a new version of OnStep can be uploaded to the controller. It is now in run mode (switch to the right).

Changed to ITG-3200/ADXL345, There is a footprint for a HMC5883, but it is not populated. Also switched to a 32A4 for smaller size and added USB for updating firmware/debugging.

Just for a sense of scale, those cap screws are 2-56 and about 3/16 of an inch long.

Since the switches will face no pressure in pulling and are backed by a piece of wood when pushing on them to change the time, hot glue provides enough support for the light use they'll receive.

When railfanning we often forget those associated with making the engine pix we take work. Here a carman resets the switch to the main after the train has left the yard siding in Henderson NC. Earlier in the day I saw him chipping ice and snow on the switch so he could throw it at a different siding.
