Swing bridge in Whitby.
The bridge originally carried the A171 road. To avoid congestion in the town centre, the road was diverted to a high level bridge over the Esk Valley built in 1980.
The bridge is not wide enough for vehicles to pass, so vehicular access to the bridge is controlled by traffic lights. The bridge is opened to shipping either side of high tide, but is quickly closed again to allow for traffic movement.
I noticed this swing at the stables the other day and it brought back happy childhood memories.
The "happiness" was enhanced with a couple of sliders in Lightroom 6
Have a great Sunday, everyone!

Every year the historic center of Soest/ Germany attracts one million people to visit the unique funfair. There is a typical atmosphere as the rides stand so close to the ancient houses.
Hamish on the swing again, backlit with a bit of lens flare.
Please don't pimp your wares. If you post graphics I'll delete them.

I found another of those American Canyon signs this evening while looking for Rings for the “We’re Here!” theme,
Top of the Sea Swing ride at the Santa Cruz boardwalk. Though I enjoy riding roller coasters, I learned from a young age that amusement park rides that spin in circles like this give me motion sickness, so I don't ride on them.
Decayed Swing. The swing sits in disrepair, no children left to swing in the spring breeze.
JPG as shot and processed from camera. Hand held IR on non-converted camera (f/1.4, 1/30th, ISO 3200 on a bright day). Sigma 30mm f/1.4 with Hoya R72 720nm Infrared filter (on lens). In camera processing, ("custom" filter with contrast adjustment and maybe "toy camera", don't recall exactly).
False color 720nm IR shots without the red/blue channel swap always look a little post-apocalyptic with the red skies and blue grass.
Overall, the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is not good at all for IR photography. It has a strong hot spot in the center when near bright light (doesn't take a lot). It didn't show in this shot as I was standing in the shade looking into the bright area.

Thanks for voting it into the Pentax Photo Gallery :)
Here is an image from when I took Kekona dancing at Swing Swing Swing... She was so light.
It is fun to see this club evolve... the owners keep adding nice things to it and new swing related dances. To activate this couple dance you have to click on the rainbow colored dance balls, then wait for the pink and blue ball to rez above you... then after you sit on the ball, click the rainbow ball to choose the dance or change the dance.
